If ever an airline could FAIL! Delta has managed to figure out a way to do it and do it well. Momma always said be the best at whatever you do....I guess the owner of Delta listened to his. Funny how WE [the USA] can let anybody and their momma, cousins and uncle into out country and ALLOW them to become citizens with little to no restrictions, and yet Americans are not permitted into Arabia unless they abide by certain stipulations. What's even more crazy is the fact that Delta is going for this hot mess. Discrimination of ANY kind is wrong, not that we aren't subjected to it more than I'd like to mention, but this is outright WRONG! No Jews allowed??? And Christians don't think you're exempt...they're taking Holy Bibles and tossing them too. Now what'chu gon do???

JERUSALEM (RNS) Jews and Israelis, or passengers carrying any non-Islamic article of faith, will not be able to fly code-share flights from the U.S. to Saudi Arabia under Delta Air Line's new partnership with Saudi Arabian Airlines that is set to begin in 2012.

Although Delta announced in January that the Saudi airline would join its SkyTeam network next year, the implications of the deal only came to light recently, according to people who have scrutinized the details.
Saudi Arabia, which is governed by strict Islamic law, requires citizens of almost every country to obtain a visa. People who wish to enter the country must have a sponsor; women, who must be dressed according to Saudi standards of modesty, must be met at the Saudi airport by a man who will act as a chaperone.

Saudi Arabia bans anyone with an Israeli stamp in their passport from entering the country, even in transit. Many Jews believe the kingdom has also withheld visas from travelers with Jewish-sounding names.

Religious items such as Bibles that are not related to Islam may be confiscated at the airport.

Colby M. May, senior counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice, a conservative legal group founded by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson, said his office is trying to determine if the agreement runs afoul of U.S. law.

"The very idea that there is a common carrier airline service that would deny an American citizen in America access to their services because they are Jewish or have religious items such as a yarmulke, a cross or a priestly collar, is deeply disturbing," May said.

May said he is "trying to get answers" from Delta.

"They have not responded in a way that answers the question," he said. "Hopefully they'll do so."

In a statement to Religion News Service on Thursday (June 23), Delta said it "does not discriminate, nor do we condone discrimination against any protected class of passenger in regards to age, race, nationality, religion, or gender."

The airline, which did not deny the new policy, insisted that it has no control over who may fly to Saudi Arabia.

"Delta must also comply with all applicable laws in every country it serves," adding that passengers are responsible for obtaining the necessary travel documents required for entry.

"If a passenger travels without proper documents, the passenger may be denied entry into that country and our airline may be fined," the statement said.

The Jan. 10 agreement allows Saudi Arabian Airlines to become a member of SkyTeam in 2012 after "fulfilling all membership requirements," according to a SkyTeam statement. The Saudi airline is SkyTeam's first member from the Middle East.

The policy has deeply angered U.S. Jewish groups, especially since Delta is an American carrier.

"Saudi Arabia, a U.S. ally, should be strongly condemned for its despicable discrimination against Jews," said Kenneth Bandler, a spokesman for the New York-based American Jewish Committee.

"For an American company, our nation's values should trump narrow business interests. Delta should be the first to reject Saudi airlines as a SkyTeam member."

Dan Diker, secretary general of the World Jewish Congress, said he hoped "Delta will not be complicit with what appears to be a demonstrably anti-Semitic and racist policy by Saudi Arabian Airlines."

Pay attention to how the details of the story about Osama's death keeps changing. First he was armed....then he wasn't. They said he used one of his wives as a human shield, then he didn't. They said there was a fire fight and he was killed in battle....a 40 minute battle at that... then they said Navy Seals had him in custody and shot him. They told us that Osama was living in a CAVE in Afghanistan, yet when they kill him he's living in a MANSION in Abbotidod, or what's to be considered a mansion over there. Doesn't it seem ODD to you that IF Obama had all these pictures and video of the incident and he LOOKED at everything, wouldn't they at least know how it happened??? I mean, wouldn't all this live feed VIDEO Obama was "SUPPOSEDLY" watching at least give clear detail as to how everything went down??? Which really does lead one to question a whole lot of things about this incident....and it SHOULD! Ask questions and if it doesn't sound right then it usually ain't!

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday: Obama administration officials said an armed Osama bin Laden was shot and killed in a firefight while using one of his wives as a human shield. The wife, we were told, was also killed in the process.

Today: Maybe bin Laden wasn't armed. Or using the woman as a human shield. And, well, she wasn't actually his wife. Also, um, she didn't die. But aside from that...
From The New York Times:

The new Defense Department narrative released by the White House, and read at a White House news briefing on Tuesday, said that one of Bin Laden’s wives was shot in the leg as she charged members of the commando team on the third floor of the compound.

“In the room with Bin Laden, a woman – Bin Laden’s wife – rushed the U.S. assaulter and was shot in the leg but not killed,” the brief statement said. “Bin Laden was then shot and killed. He was not armed.”

Jay Carney, the White House press secretary, read the narrative in an attempt to correct statements by administration officials who had suggested that Bin Laden was armed during the raid.

Under questioning, Mr. Carney said that the White House stood by its claim on Monday that Bin Laden had resisted capture, but said that “resistance does not require a firearm.” Mr. Carney said that the new narrative was the result of “fresh” information.

...On Monday, John O. Brennan, the top counterterrorism adviser to President Obama, said he believed that Bin Laden’s wife had been killed while trying to shield the terror leader during the 40-minute raid.

But the narrative released Tuesday by Mr. Carney suggested that the woman who died in the raid was part of another family living at the compound. The narrative says that woman was shot and killed on the first floor, not the third floor, where Bin Laden was found and killed.

Let's assume, for the moment, that no bad faith was involved in the initial transmission of these unfortunate untruths, and that it was all a result of a misunderstanding, not a deliberate plan to spread a convenient story about bin Laden dying a particularly pathetic death. As anyone who's ever played a game of telephone knows, it's tough enough to get a bunch of people sitting in a room next to each other to keep a story straight; in the fog of kinetic military action, it's surely even tougher.

But that's the point: This sort of revision should be a reminder to anyone tempted to take the official story at face value before it's been independently reported and verified. It's easy to ignore the fact that the vast majority of the details reported about the raid came via the usually-talking-point-filled mouths of administration sources, not from firsthand accounts, independent reports, or documentation. All we know is what various senior officials said happened, not what actually happened. This is why it would be helpful for the administration to release documentation—images, video, audio, whatever—that can verify the official account of the raid. But so far, they're not even saying exactly how Obama and other White House officials tracked the operation's progress, only that they followed along in real time.

The administration deserves a small amount of credit for willingly issuing what amounts to an embarrassing correction—but only a small amount. If you're going to stand in front of the world as senior representatives of the United States government and confidently assert that some historic event happened in some particular way, then you'd better be certain you've got your story straight. By failing to get basic who, what, and where information right the first time around, the administration has undermined its own credibility on what ought to have been a straightforward victory and arguably made it easier for the inevitable conspiracy theories to spread. Good for them for correcting their mistakes. But they should've gotten it right the first time around.

September 28, 2001, Bin Laden allegedly does interview with Afghanistan news outlet and claims US intelligence agencies carried out 9/11

This interview was published by JUST Response on November 26 2003. It first appeared on September 28 2001 in the Karachi-based The Daily Ummat, Pakistan's second largest Urdu morning newspaper. Explanations and additions in square brackets were added by the translator.

Daily Ummat: You have been accused of involvement in the attacks on New York and Washington. What do you want to say about this?

Osama Bin Laden: In the name of Allah, the most beneficent, the most merciful. Praise be to Allah, Who is the creator of the whole universe and Who made the Earth as an abode for peace for the whole of humankind. Allah is the Sustainer, who sent the Prophet Muhammad for our guidance. I am thankful to Ummat Publications for giving me the opportunity to convey my viewpoint to the people, particularly the valiant and Momin [true Muslim] people of Pakistan who refused to believe the lies of the demon [Pakistani military dictator General Pervez Musharraf].

I have already said that I am not involved in the September 11 attacks in the United States. As a Muslim, I try my best to avoid telling a lie. I had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I consider the killing of innocent women, children and other human beings as an appreciable act. Islam strictly forbids causing harm to innocent women, children and other people. Such a practice is forbidden even in the course of battle. It is the United States which is perpetrating every sort of maltreatment on women, children and common people of other faiths, particularly the followers of Islam. All that has been going on in Palestine for the last 11 months is sufficient to invoke the wrath of God upon the United States and Israel. There is also a warning for those Muslim countries that witnessed all of this as silent spectators. What had earlier been done to the innocent people of Iraq, Chechnya and Bosnia?

Only one conclusion could be derived from the indifference of the United States and the West to these acts of terror and the patronage of the tyrants by these powers, namely that America is an anti-Islamic power and is patronizing anti-Islamic forces. Its friendship with the Muslim countries is just show, or rather deceit. By enticing or intimidating these countries, the United States is forcing them to play a role of its choice. Cast a glance around and you will see that the slaves of the United States are either rulers or enemies of Muslims.

The US has no friends, nor does it want any because the prerequisite of friendship is to come to the level of the friend or consider him on par with yourself. America does not want to see anyone equal to it. It expects slavery from others. Therefore, other countries are either its slaves or its subordinates. However, our case is different. We have pledged slavery to God Almighty alone and after this pledge there is no possibility of becoming someone else's slave. If we did that it would be disregardful both to our Sustainer and to his fellow beings. Most of the nations of the world who are upholding their freedom are the religious ones, which are the enemies of the United States, or which the US itself considers to be its enemies.

The countries which do not agree to become US slaves are China, Iran, Libya, Cuba, Syria [Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Sudan, Indonesia, Malaysia] and Russia. Whoever committed the act of September 11 are not the friends of the American people. I have already said that we are against the American system, not against its people, whereas in these attacks, common American people have been killed. According to my information, the death toll is much higher than what the US Government has stated. But the Bush administration does not want the panic to spread. The United States should try to trace the perpetrators of these attacks within itself; the people who are a part of the US system but are dissenting against it. Or those who are working for some other system; persons who want to make the present century as a century of conflict between Islam and Christianity so that their own civilization, nation, country, or ideology can survive. They may be anyone, from Russia to Israel and from India to Serbia. In the US itself, there are dozens of well-organized and well-equipped groups capable of causing large-scale destruction. Then you cannot forget the American Jews, who have been annoyed with President Bush ever since the Florida elections and who want to avenge him.

Then there are intelligence agencies in the US, which require billions of dollars worth of funds from Congress and the government every year. This [funding issue] was not a big problem until the existence of the ex-Soviet Union but after that the budget of these agencies has been in danger. They needed an enemy. So, they first started propaganda against Osama and the Talibans and then this incident happened. You see, the Bush Administration approved a budget of 40 billion dollars. Where will this huge amount go? It will be provided to the same agencies which need huge funds and want to exert their importance. Now they will spend the money for their expansion and to increase their importance. I will give you an example. Drug smugglers from all over the world are in contact with the US secret agencies. These agencies do not want to eradicate narcotics cultivation and trafficking because their importance would be diminished. The people in the US Drug Enforcement Department are encouraging drug trade in order to show performance and get millions of dollars worth of budget. General Noriega was made a drug baron by the CIA and, in need, he was made a scapegoat. In the same way, whether it is President Bush or any other US President, they cannot bring Israel to justice for its human rights abuses or to hold it accountable for such crimes. What is this? Is it not that there exists a government within the government in the United Sates? That secret government must be asked who carried out the attacks.

Daily Ummat: A number of countries have joined the call of the United States to launch attacks on Afghanistan. These also include a number of Muslim countries. Will Al-Qaeda declare a jihad against these Islamic countries too?

Bin Laden: I must say that my duty is just to awaken the Muslims; to tell them what is good for them and what is not, what Islam says and what the enemies of Islam want. Al-Qaeda was set up to wage a jihad against infidelity, particularly to counter the onslaught of the infidel countries against the Islamic states. Jihad is the sixth undeclared pillar of Islam. [The first five being the basic holy words of Islam: that there is only one God in the entire universe and that Muhammad is the last Prophet of God; prayers; fast; pilgrimage to Mecca; and giving alms.] Every anti-Islamic person is afraid of the jihad. Al-Qaeda wants to keep the jihad alive and active and make it a part of the daily life of the Muslims. It wants to give it the status of worship. We are not against any Islamic country. We do not consider a war against an Islamic country to be a jihad. We are in favour of an armed jihad only against those infidel governments that are killing innocent Muslim men, women and children just because they are Muslims. Supporting the US act is the need of some Muslim countries and the compulsion of others. However, they should think about what will remain of their religious and moral position if they support the attack of the Christians and Jews on a Muslim country like Afghanistan. The orders of Islamic Shariah [jurisprudence] for such individuals, organizations and countries are clear and all the scholars of the Muslim brotherhood are unanimous about them. We will do the same, which is being ordered by the Ameer-ul-Momeneen [the commander of the faithful Afghans] Muhammad Omar and the Islamic scholars. The hearts of the people of Muslim countries are beating with the call of jihad. We are grateful to them.

Daily Ummat: The losses caused in the attacks in New York and Washington have proved that giving an economic blow to the US is not too difficult. US experts admit that a few more such attacks could bring down the American economy. Why is Al-Qaeda not targeting their economic pillars?

Bin Laden: I have already said that we are not hostile to the United States. We are against the [US Government] system, which makes other nations slaves of the United States, or forces them to mortgage their political and economic freedom. This system is totally under the control of American-Jews, whose first priority is Israel, not the United States. It is clear that the American people are themselves the slaves of the Jews and are forced to live according to the principles and laws laid down by them. So, the punishment should reach Israel. In fact, it is Israel, which is giving a blood bath to innocent Muslims and the US is not uttering a single word.

Daily Ummat: Why is harm not caused to the enemies of Islam through other means, apart from the armed struggle? For instance, urging the Muslims to boycott Western products, banks, shipping lines and TV channels.

Bin Laden: The first thing is that Western products could only be boycotted when the Muslim fraternity is fully awakened and organized. Secondly, the Muslim companies should become self-sufficient in producing goods equal to the products of Western companies. Economic boycot of the West is not possible unless economic self-sufficiency is attained and substitute products are brought out. You see that wealth is scattered all across the Muslim World but not a single TV channel has been acquired which can preach Islamic injunctions according to modern requirements and attain an international influence. Muslim traders and philanthropists should make it a point that if the weapon of public opinion is to be used, it is to be kept in the hand. Today's world is of public opinion and the fates of nations are determined through its pressure. Once the tools for building public opinion are obtained, everything that you asked for can be done.

Daily Ummat: The entire propaganda about your struggle has so far been made by the Western media. But no information is being received from your sources about the network of Al-Qaeda and its jihad successes. Would you like to comment on this?

Bin Laden: In fact, the Western media is left with nothing else. It has no other theme to survive for a long time. Then we have many other things to do. The struggle for jihad and the successes are for the sake of Allah and not to annoy His bondsmen. Our silence is our real propaganda. Rejections, explanations, or corrigendum only waste your time and through them, the enemy wants you to engage in things which are not of use to you. These things are pulling you away from your cause. The Western media is unleashing such a baseless propaganda, which makes us surprise but it reflects on what is in their hearts and gradually they themselves become captive of this propaganda. They become afraid of it and begin to cause harm to themselves. Terror is the most dreaded weapon in the modern age and the Western media is mercilessly using it against its own people. It can add fear and helplessness in the psyche of the people of Europe and the United States. It means that what the enemies of the United States cannot do, its media is doing for them. You can understand what will be the performance in war of a nation that suffers from fear and helplessness.

Daily Ummat: What will be the impact of the freezing of Al-Qaeda's accounts by the US?

Bin Laden: God opens up ways for those who work for Him. Freezing accounts will not make any difference for Al-Qaeda or other jihad groups. With the grace of Allah, Al-Qaeda has more than three alternative financial systems, which are all separate and totally independent from each other. This system is operating under the patronage of those who love jihad. What can we say about the United States when not even the world combined can budge these people from their path? These people are not hundreds but thousands and millions. Al-Qaeda comprises modern educated youths who are as aware of the cracks inside the Western financial system as they are aware of the lines in the palms of their hands. These are the very flaws of the Western fiscal system, which are becoming a noose for it and this system could not recuperate despite the passage of so many days.

Daily Ummat: Are there any safe areas other than Afghanistan, where you can continue jihad?

Bin Laden: There are areas in all parts of the world where strong jihadi forces are present, from Indonesia to Algeria, from Kabul to Chechnya, from Bosnia to Sudan, and from Burma to Kashmir. Then it is not the problem of my person. I am a helpless fellowman of God, constantly in the fear of my accountability before God. It is not the question of Osama but of Islam and, in Islam too, of jihad. Thanks to God, those waging a jihad can walk today with their heads raised. Jihad existed when there was no Osama and it will continue to exist even when Osama is no longer here. Allah opens up ways and creates love in the hearts of people for those who walk on the path of Allah with their lives, property and children. Believe it, through jihad, a man gets everything he desires. And the biggest desire of a Muslim is the life after death. Martyrdom is the shortest way of attaining an eternal life.

Daily Ummat: What do you have to say about the Pakistani Government policy regarding the attack on Afghanistan?

Bin Laden: We are thankful to the Momin and valiant people of Pakistan who erected a blockade before the evil forces and stood in the first line of battle. Pakistan is a great hope for the Islamic brotherhood. Its people are awakened, organized and rich in the spirit of faith. They backed Afghanistan in its war against the Soviet Union and extended all its help to the Mojahedin and Afghan people. Then these are the very Pakistanis who are standing shoulder to shoulder with the Taliban. If such people emerged in just two countries, the domination of the West would diminish in a matter of days. Our hearts beat with Pakistan and, God forbid, if a difficult time comes we will protect it with our blood. Pakistan is as sacred for us as a place of worship. We are the people of jihad and fighting for the defense of Pakistan is the best of all jihads to us. It does not matter for us as to who reforms Pakistan. The important thing is that the spirit of jihad is alive and stronger in the hearts of the Pakistani people.

There is more civil unrest in America than its peak post World War II. Most of you will say it’s the economy. I can think of little that is more frustrating than not being able to find work so that you can pay your rent or mortgage and feed your kids. But they've even taken it a step further. Where I said they'd tell you to eat your own poo, they're saying you have to eat other people's! LOL And I did say that people would probably be trying to figure out a way to sell it, but I was only joking......REALLY! Scientists Treat Hospital Infection With 'Fecal Transplant'

Once a year, every year, Professor Thomas Borody receives a single-stem rose from one of his most grateful patients. She is, he says, thanking him for restoring her bowel flora.

It's a distasteful cure for a problem that's increasingly widespread: the Clostridium difficile bug, typically caught by patients in hospitals and nursing homes, can be hard to treat with antibiotics.

But Borody is one of a group of scientists who believe the answer is a fecal transplant.

Some jokily call it a "transpoosion." Others have more sciencey names like "bacteriotherapy" or "stool infusion therapy." But the process involves, frankly, replacing a person's poo with someone else's, and in the process, giving them back the "good" bugs they desperately need.

Borody's grateful patient, Coralie Muddell, suffered months of chronic diarrhea so bad she would often embarrass herself in public, and had even stopped eating to try to halt the flow.

The technique that cured her has had a success rate of around 90 percent in the experimental cases where it has been used so far. Now scientists are taking it to the next level, with randomized controlled trials to establish if it can really be a viable option when antibiotics have failed.

With rates of hospital-acquired C.difficile infection rising in the United States, Europe and other parts of the world, that could save lives as well as reducing expensive days of extra care. "There's rising recognition of how effective this is," Borody, a Sydney-based gastroenterologist, told Reuters.

YUCK FACTOR

There's little doubt this treatment has an image problem. Feces, including important bowel flora, is transferred from a volunteer donor – screened to limit possible other infections – into the colon of the infected patient. The treatment can be administered by a colonoscope or an enema, or by the mouth or the nose.

"I used to be frowned upon and called 'the doctor who makes people eat s---'," says Borody, whose scientific papers have included such titles as "Flora Power" and "Toying with Human Motions."

But he is also deadly serious. One of his published studies reported that in patients with recurrent C.difficile infection, 60 out of 67 – 90 percent – of those who received fecal transplants were cured.

Alex Khoruts, a gastroenterologist at the University of Minnesota Medical School in the United States, agrees that the science is not to be sniffed at. "The data are very strong," he said in a telephone interview. "There is no question that it works."

Khoruts published a study in the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology in 2009 that showed a single infusion of feces reversed the absence of bacteroides – a group of bacteria vital to the body's ability to withstand infections with C.difficile.

Khoruts often sees patients who have taken course after course of antibiotics. As soon as the treatment stops, the infection returns. It doesn't take much for these sufferers to listen to a new treatment idea, even if it involves feces.

"The patients I see don't have any qualms about it," he says. "By the time I see them, they've often been sick for anywhere from six months to two years, so they're quite desperate. Nothing really scares them."

The main aim, he says, is to keep the poo pure.

"What we try to do is preserve it as close as possible to how it was in the donor. There's no in-between culture or enrichment. We want to transfer as much as we can intact."

The donor feces is filtered to remove some larger particles and then "simply goes through a blender," says Khoruts, with a saline solution to liquefy it before it is administered.

He favors methods which avoid going in through the mouth or the nose, which he says may make patients gag.

Borody's clinic, at the Center for Digestive Diseases in New South Wales, acknowledges that using a nasojejunal tube – which goes in through the nose, down the throat and into the stomach – is not the most attractive method, but argues it is the most reliable way of killing the C.difficile bug and its spores once and for all.

C. DIFFICILE ON THE RISE

Repellent as fecal transplants may seem, if C.difficile trends continue, demand could rise rapidly.
A Europe-wide study published in The Lancet late last year found the incidence of C.difficile infections in hospitals in the region had risen to 4.1 per 10,000 patient days in 2008 from 2.45 per 10,000 patient days in 2005.

The infections can have a range of consequences, from severe diarrhea to blood poisoning, colitis and death.

A 2008 report from the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) found that on any single day in U.S. hospitals, there could be 7,000 infections with C.difficile and up to 300 deaths.

The most commonly used antibiotic for C.difficile is metronidazole, and some more severe forms are treated with vancomycin, traditionally seen as the antibiotic of last resort. Like other bacteria, C.difficile can develop resistance to vancomycin, giving it "superbug" or multi-drug-resistant traits that make treatment extremely difficult or impossible.

Khoruts cites data from 1958, when some of the first scientific papers on the use of fecal transplants were published. That showed the death rate for patients with a type of infection called fulminant C.difficile colitis was 75 percent.

"Then if you go forward to 2010 – 52 years later, with the best current medical care and new antibiotics – the mortality is still 50 percent," he says. "So we really can't say standard medicine has done that well in 50 years."

"POO IS THE ONLY ANSWER"

Khoruts now fears that unless the medical establishment embraces the technique, "the majority of people who could benefit from this procedure are not going to get it." Borody says "poo is the only answer." So why is it not catching on?

Scientific literature over half a century has documented the use of fecal transplants, but the technique has remained on the fringes of medicine. Some experts say a lack of robust trial data may be holding people back – as well as the obvious and natural aversion to feces as a medicinal product.

To try to address this, a team of specialists in The Netherlands is recruiting around 100 sick and healthy people into a randomized controlled trial – considered the gold standard in science – to see if the method can be proven.

Although the study is still under way, Ed Kuijper of the Leiden University Medical Center, one of those working on it, says the early signs are that fecal transplants will be shown to be effective in patients with recurrent, or relapsing C.difficile infections.

Tackling the image problem is more challenging; but both Khoruts and Kuijper say scientists are "not very far away" from being able develop a kind of artificial feces that might help.

This laboratory-grown poo would be like a super pro-biotic, they say, but more powerful by far than any yoghurt drink you can buy in a supermarket. It would have the qualities of donor poo without the marketing issues.

"It would be a good idea if synthetic poo would work," says Borody. But he has doubts – and until he sees some good results with artificial feces, he's sticking with the real thing. "We'd like to get away from poo, but it works the best."

The apocalypse-implying event on New Year’s Eve where thousands of birds fell from the sky after having spontaneously died mid-flight in Arkansas was slightly more alarming when considered alongside the fact that thousands more fish seemingly died en masse not too far from the bird holocaust.

However, neither of these two events were isolated- another group similar birds also dropped dead from the sky around the same time, hundreds of miles away in Louisiana. Discussing the second “occurrence” (does that put anyone else in mind of an M. Night Shyamalan-type film?) in Pointe Coupee Parish, State Wildlife Veterinarian Jim LaCour said the happenstance of birds dropping from skies en masse hundreds miles away from one another was (although creepy as a motherbitch) documented:

“Underlying disease, starvation and cold fronts where birds can’t get their body heat up” have caused similar occurrences “in various species over the years,” he said.

A “loud noise,” possibly from holiday fireworks, was initially blamed for the mass deaths, but it is unclear if such an event would affect the second set of birds as well as the estimated 80-100,000 dead fish. Necropsies performed on the first set of dead birds indicated at least some died of “deadly blood clots.”

More Than 1,000 Dead Birds Plunge From Sky in Arkansas

Friday it was a slew of dead fish in Arkansas and now there are dead birds dropping all over the place in Arkansas. Not to mention the bad storms and earthquakes over there recently....Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this picture???

BEEBE, Ark. -- (SOURCE) Wildlife officials are trying to determine what caused more than 1,000 blackbirds to die and fall from the sky over an Arkansas town.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said Saturday that it began receiving reports about the dead birds about 11:30 p.m. the previous night. The birds fell over a 1-mile area of Beebe, and an aerial survey indicated that no other dead birds were found outside of that area.

Commission ornithologist Karen Rowe said the birds showed physical trauma, and she speculated that "the flock could have been hit by lightning or high-altitude hail." (Duh, of course they're going to show signs of physical trauma they're falling from the SKY! HELLO! And as far as high altitude hail....to that I say HAIL NO!!! Next!)

The commission said that New Year's Eve revelers shooting off fireworks in the area could have startled the birds from their roost and caused them to die from stress. (Uh huh... You buyin' this??? Cuz Im not.)

Robby King, a wildlife officer for the agency, collected about 65 dead birds, which will be sent for testing to the state Livestock and Poultry Commission lab and the National Wildlife Health Center lab in Madison, Wis.

Rowe said that similar events have occurred elsewhere and that test results "usually were inconclusive." She said she doubted the birds were poisoned. (Yeah I doubt it too. Call HAARP and ask them what kind of experiments they've been running in that area without informing the public. NEW ORLEANS — Dangerous new drugs are being sold as fake bath salts, fake fertilizer or fake insect repellent — and sending drug abusers to emergency rooms around the country after snorting or smoking them, poison center officials say.

At least 84 people around Louisiana have been hospitalized because of paranoia, fighting, hallucinations, suicidal thoughts and physical effects such as hypertension and rapid heartbeat — most for a day or two but at least three of them for weeks, Mark Ryan, head of the Louisiana Poison Center, said Wednesday.

Although they're labeled as bath products or even poison, always including the warning "Not for human consumption," word on the street and the Internet is that they can be sniffed as "legal cocaine" or "legal speed," Henry A. Spiller, director of the Kentucky Regional Poison Center in Louisville, said Wednesday.

"These are experienced drug users ... There's a lot of things they'll suffer for the drug high they're looking for," Spiller said. "Even these people are coming into the emergency room. Even they can't handle these fairly nasty effects."

Ryan said users describe the drugs as many times more potent than Ritalin or cocaine. Spiller said several people had tried to kill themselves, and others attacked friends or family.

Julie Sanders, an emergency room doctor in Covington, said her stepson, 21-year-old Dickie Sanders, shot and killed himself three days after sniffing "Cloud 9" — one of the names under which MDPV, short for methylenedioxypyrovalerone (METH-uh-leen-di-OX-ee-PY-ro-VAL-uh-rone), is sold.

She said he felt so ill and paranoid the first morning that he repeatedly called his father, family physician Richard J. Sanders, telling him how he was feeling and what he'd taken. The drug kept him awake and paranoid for three nights, she said. The last night he hallucinated that their house was surrounded by police helicopters and dozens of police cars.

The coroner is investigating a possible suicide but has not officially ruled on it, said Capt. George Bonnett of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.

Ryan said poison centers around the country have gotten 160 calls — 91 of them in Louisiana — about problems from mephedrone (MEF-uh-drone) and MDPV.
The drugs have been sold over the Internet and on the street, in headshops and in convenience, gas station and truck stop stores, said Ryan.

Spiller, who bought some for analysis, said they cost $40 for about two-hundredths of an ounce.

"You and I know that Bath and Body Works would make a fortune if that's what they charged for real bath salts," he said.

Dickie Sanders was in the drug court system after being caught with marijuana, Sanders said. She said he'd passed all his drug tests and attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings for some six months. Someone else convicted in drug court sold him Cloud 9, saying, "You can try this stuff and it won't show up on a drug screen."

Sanders said her stepdaughter bought Cloud 9 at a gas station where the clerk had it under the counter.

"It was like a sugar or sweetener packet. When you feel it, it feels like only a few granules," she said. "There's no way it's a true bath salt."

Ryan said the marketing is similar to that for the synthetic marijuana called "spice" or "K2," Ryan said. "It was being marketed as potpourri and incense. It was neither. It was meant to be smoked."

"This is an emerging health threat that needs to be taken seriously," Alvin C. Bronstein, medical director of the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center and acting director of toxicosurveillance for the American Association of Poison Control Centers, said in a news release.

'A really bad trip'
Ryan said other state poison centers have had a total of 69 calls about the drugs as of midday Wednesday: 19 in Kentucky, 13 in Florida, 12 in Mississippi, 10 in Missouri, six each in Tennessee and Texas, and four in Utah.

"Many of the people who came in described this as a really bad trip," Ryan said. "But because it causes such intense cravings, like methamphetamine, they keep using it.

Ryan said the products are illegal in the United Kingdom and a number of European countries. England outlawed them in April, according to the North Yorkshire Police website.

The powders are sold under other names such as Ivory Wave, Ocean, Charge plus, White Lightning, Scarface, Hurricane Charlie, Red Dove and White Dove, Ryan said.

It wasn't a big problem when it was sold only on the Internet, Spiller said. "The group we're getting it from is paying cash at the gas station, not using a credit card over the Internet," he said.

Ryan noted that, whether labeled bath salts, plant food or insect repellent, the packages have clear warnings, but buyers are looking for drugs.

"Their use is, by the blogs, to be snorted," he said, adding that at least two Louisiana patients injected a drug and one tried to smoke it.

Sanders said her stepson took the drug on a Tuesday night. Late Wednesday night, he called his father and said he was afraid people outside his RV would try to break in.

FCC Passes Net Neutrality Order

Puts in place three rules to reflect how Web operates

Private business, entrepreneurs and students in college dorm rooms nurtured and grew the Internet since it was privatized in 1994. Now the regulators take over.

In a bold move, the Federal Communications Commission asserted its authority over the Internet Tuesday (Dec. 21), passing a controversial net neutrality order to make sure the Internet stays free and open. It’s the first time the FCC has adopted enforceable rules to regulate the Internet.

The vote followed party lines with the two Republican commissioners, Robert McDowell and Meredith Atwell Baker, dissenting in lengthy point-by-point statements.

The order will put in place three rules crafted to reflect the way the Internet operates now, the FCC said. The first rule deals with ensuring transparency of Internet services, requiring fixed and wireless services to describe their network management practices. Rule No. 2 is a no-blocking rule. Fixed and wireless Internet services cannot block lawful content, applications or services. The third rule applies to fixed Internet services and prohibits Internet services from discriminating against any lawful content or giving preferential treatment to certain content.

Internet services will be allowed to manage their networks to deal with congestion and security and use tiered pricing.

"This order is about preserving the freedom and openness of the Internet that has worked for so many years," said FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski. "It's a good day for innovators, for consumers and for the future of the Internet."

Fourteen months in the making, the order Tuesday was an alternative to previous attempts by the FCC to become the Internet's regulating body. Earlier this year, a D.C. Circuit Court ruled that the FCC lacked the authority to regulate the Internet.

The question of the FCC's authority is perhaps the main sticking point of opponents to today's order, which included the two Republican commissioners.

"Instead of acting as a cop on the beat, the FCC looks more like a regulatory vigilante," said commissioner Robert McDowell. "The FCC has provocatively charged on a collision course with the legislative branch. Not only is this the darkest day of the year, but it marks one of the darkest days in the FCC's recent history," he said.

Both McDowell and Baker, who complained they didn't see the final order until after 11:30 p.m. on Monday, predicted the order would be tested in court. Both Verizon and AT&T are considering filing suit.

The backlash from Congress came within hours after the FCC concluded its meeting. Incoming chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.), along with Energy and Commerce Subcommittee chairs Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) and Rep. Lee Terry (R-Neb.), and Energy and Commerce member Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) held a press conference outlining their next steps to reverse the FCC's order.

"There is going to be no stone left unturned," said Upton, who cited three avenues to overturn the order: the use of the Congressional Review Act, new legislation and defunding. "We believe the commission overstepped their bounds and we intend to put a bridle on them and rein them in."

Net neutrality could be the first hearing for the Energy and Commerce Committee under Republican leadership. "This will be the first hearing out of the box," vowed Walden. "We're troubled by the FCC's process and the policy. More troubling are the legal theories that underpin [the order]. We see this as a power grab by the FCC."

On the Democratic side, a number of Congressional leaders threw support behind the FCC including Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), whose draft legislation was the basis for the FCC's order, Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Sen. John Rockefeller (D-W.Va.).

More body scanners are coming to an airport near you

The full-body scanners in use at 78 U.S. airports can detect small amounts of contraband and hidden weapons, all while producing controversial images of travelers.

The "good catches," federal officials say, have largely gone unnoticed amid the criticism that erupted over the ghostly X-rays and "enhanced" pat-downs. The Transportation Security Administration, which intensified airport screening last month, points to several successes: small amounts of marijuana wrapped in baggies, other drugs stitched inside underwear, ceramic knives concealed in shirt pockets.

But the machines could miss something far more deadly: explosive material taped to someone's abdomen or hidden inside a cavity. Researchers and security experts question the technology's ability to detect chemical explosives that are odorless, far smaller than previous incarnations, and easily molded to fool machines and security screeners into thinking they are part of the human body.

Government testing, which has been mostly classified because of security concerns, has also raised concerns about the effectiveness of the full-body scanners.

Based partly on early successes, federal officials are planning to continue an unprecedented roll-out of the technology over the next year. By New Year's Day, about 500 machines will be in use across the country, including at the Washington area's three major airports. By the end of next year, 1,000 X-ray machines will be operational, accounting for roughly half of the nation's 2,000 lanes of security checkpoints.

Following the United States' lead, several nations have begun to test or install
full-body scanners, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Russia and the United Kingdom. U.S. officials have also considered whether the machines could be used to enhance security at passenger rail stations.

Federal officials say the scanners represent the best technology that has passed both lab and field tests. But as with reading an X-ray, training is the most important factor in making sure that TSA officers can spot potentially dangerous items on passengers.

"The bottom line is that we are now able to detect all types of the most dangerous weapons - nonmetallic explosive devices," TSA spokesman Nicholas Kimball said. "Even in small amounts, it can be picked up."

Window dressing?

Two types of scanning machines - backscatter and millimeter wave - have been installed at airports since 2007, when they were launched as part of a pilot program at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Both machines produce the same full-body images that attracted controversy; they work by bouncing X-rays or radio waves off skin or concealed objects.

They have been installed at a quicker rate since a failed Christmas Day terrorist attempt last year in which Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab hid explosives in his underwear on a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit. The failed attack also prompted federal officials to use the scanners as a primary security technique at airports instead of a secondary, less frequent checkpoint feature.

Still, many security experts say the machines are expensive window dressing meant to put the traveling public at ease.

A recent paper published in the Journal of Transportation Security by two former University of California-San Francisco physicists said that images produced by the backscatter scanners would probably fail to show a large pancake-shaped object taped to the abdomen because it would be "easily confused with normal anatomy." As a result, a third of a kilo of PETN, a type of malleable explosive, which could be discovered by a pat-down, would be missed, the scientists said.

"It's not an explosives detector; it's an anomaly detector," said Clark Ervin, who runs the Homeland Security Program at the nonprofit Aspen Institute. "Someone has to notice that there's something out of order." Ervin was the first inspector general for the Department of Homeland Security.

PETN, or pentaerythritol tetranitrate, is hard to detect. Odorless and similar to a white crystal powder, it was used in both package bombs shipped to the United States in October and the Christmas airliner attempt last year. Those who plotted the cargo attack hid the explosive in toner cartridges and "clearly" tried to trick baggage screening technologies, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

Brian Michael Jenkins, director of the Transportation Security Center at the Mineta Transportation Institute in San Jose, Calif., said he was unsure whether an advanced scanner would have discovered the explosives in Abdulmutallab's underwear. The U.S. Government Accountability Office has said it "remains unclear" whether he would have been caught by a full-body scanner. But a random assortment of security measures - and not the reliance on one technology or method - is key, Jenkins said.

"It's the mystery that drives our adversaries crazy," he said. "We need the unknown."

Drawbacks, advances

The Transportation Security Laboratory, a federal Homeland Security testing site created in 1992 at New Jersey's Atlantic City International Airport, began testing on full-body scanners in 2007. The detailed results of the testing performed in Atlantic City are classified because of security concerns, but interviews with more than a dozen former and current government officials and the limited release of its findings found:

- The detection of weapons and contraband varied by who was evaluating the images,

indicating that some transportation security officers were less adept at spotting unusual or dangerous items.

- The "backscatter" rays can be obscured by body parts and might not readily detect thin items seen "edge-on."

- Objects hidden inside the body, in cavities, might be missed by both types of the scanning machines altogether.

"If you have someone who is rather fat or who has large breasts or buttocks, that's a factor, too," said Anthony Fainberg, a physicist and former program manager for explosives and radiation detection at Homeland Security.

Fainberg has lobbied for hand-held swabbing of hands and luggage for trace detection of explosives, especially on international flights.

"If you have something hidden behind flaps of flesh, it can be missed," he said. "I'm not worried about the safety of it at all, but I am concerned about what could be missed."

Frank Cilluffo, director of the Homeland Security Policy Institute at George Washington University, said that the technology expands the TSA's security toolbox.

"It is not going to solve the problem, but it certainly comes a long way from where we were before," Cilluffo said.

'These things take time'

To address the litany of security and privacy concerns over the full-body scanners, federal officials are testing several new technologies that will probably make their way into airports in the coming months.

Homeland Security's research and design division, the Science and Technology Directorate, is testing a software patch being developed by the two companies behind the scanning technology - Rapiscan Systems and L-3 Communications - that would produce only a generic outline of a human body accompanied by a box or colored squares indicating a hidden anomaly or specific substance. An alarm might also be used to alert screeners to potential threats.

But TSA Administrator John S. Pistole said that the software, called automated target recognition, is not scoring well in lab tests, producing too many false-positive errors.

"It is a relatively complex math problem, but we're confident we're going to solve it and solve it soon," said Peter Kant, executive vice president of Rapiscan Systems. "But these things take time."

Meanwhile, federal researchers are testing systems that would scan passengers' shoes without having to take them off; a new generation of carry-on baggage equipment, such as conveyor systems; and smaller and faster baggage scanning machines, which could check 1,500 bags per hour, up from an average of 300 to 400 per hour. Technology developed at the Department of Energy's Los Alamos National Laboratory could identify liquids through opaque containers, such as a soda can or juice pouch.

KBR to Get No-Bid Army Work as U.S. Alleges Kickbacks

May 6 (Bloomberg) -- KBR Inc. was selected for a no-bid contract worth as much as $568 million through 2011 for military support services in Iraq, the Army said.

The Army announced its decision yesterday only hours after the Justice Department said it will pursue a lawsuit accusing the Houston-based company of taking kickbacks from two subcontractors on Iraq-related work. The Army also awarded the work to KBR over objections from members of Congress, who have pushed the Pentagon to seek bids for further logistics contracts.

The Justice Department said the government will join a suit filed by whistleblowers alleging that two freight-forwarding firms gave KBR transportation department employees kickbacks in the form of meals, drinks, sports tickets and golf outings.

“Defense contractors cannot take advantage of the ongoing war effort by accepting unlawful kickbacks,” Assistant Attorney General Tony West said in a statement.

KBR, the Army’s largest contractor in Iraq, will review the litigation when it is received and “will continue to cooperate with the government,” company spokeswoman Heather Browne said in an e-mail. “Gifts of dinners, baseball tickets and similar items would violate KBR policies and KBR was not aware of these violations.”

KBR will continue to provide services in Iraq such as housing, meals, laundry, showers, water purification and bathroom cleaning under the new order, which was placed under a military contract KBR won in late 2001, shortly after the U.S. invaded Afghanistan.

‘Appropriate Safeguards’

The Army has “reviewed the government’s notice to intervene” in the whistleblower lawsuit, Army spokesman Dan Carlson said. “We feel we have appropriate safeguards in place” to protect the government’s interests.

The no-bid work order is unusual because the Army, at the insistence of Congress, has since April 2008 put all logistics orders to bid, pitting KBR against Falls Church, Virginia-based DynCorp International Inc. and Irving, Texas-based Fluor Corp.

The Army didn’t put this work out for bids because U.S. commanders in Iraq advised against it, saying that enlisting a new company would be too disruptive as the U.S withdraws, Army program director Lee Thompson said in an interview before the Justice Department action was announced.

Odierno’s View

The view of General Ray Odierno, the U.S. military commander in Iraq, was crucial to the decision, Army Chief of Staff General George Casey told reporters today.

“Odierno said, ‘I’ve got three million pieces of equipment I’ve got to get out of Iraq, I’ve got 100 or so bases to close, I’ve got to move 80,000-plus people out of here and you want me to change horses in the middle of the stream?’” Casey recounted.

The U.S. force in Iraq is scheduled to shrink from 94,000 troops today to 50,000 by August, with a complete withdrawal by December 2011.

The Army, in its statement yesterday, said putting to bid an order for 18 months’ work and making the transition to a new contractor would cost at least $77 million. The KBR work order will be awarded by Aug. 31, said Mike Hutchison, deputy director of Army logistics contracting.

Earlier U.S. Lawsuit

The lawsuit is the second government action this year against KBR. The U.S. sued the company on April 1, alleging that it used private armed security guards in Iraq between 2003 and 2006 in violation of its Army contract and then improperly billed for their services.

Before yesterday’s Justice Department announcement, the Army had said in an e-mailed statement that it was aware of the April lawsuit and would use “additional oversight measures to ensure only reasonable, allowable costs are paid” under the new work order.

The new lawsuit, filed in a Texas federal court, was based on information from two whistleblowers who work in the air cargo industry, the Justice Department statement said. The whistleblowers can get a portion of any money the Justice Department obtains in the case.

Senate Objections

KBR’s no-bid work order drew criticism from two U.S. senators even before it was announced.

Senator Claire McCaskill, the Missouri Democrat who heads a subcommittee that oversees military contracting, and the panel’s ranking Republican, Susan Collins of Maine, wrote Defense Secretary Robert Gates on April 30 urging the Army against “continued reliance” on KBR in light of the Justice Department’s April lawsuit.

“The Army has a big burden to demonstrate that a decision to not compete is in the best interest of the military and American taxpayers,” McCaskill said in a statement last night. “We will hold their feet to the fire and continue to demand accountability on this decision.”

Under the new competitive-bid approach, KBR on March 2 won a one-year, $571 million contract with four option years that, if exercised, could be worth as much as $2.77 billion.

That contract calls for KBR to provide services including transportation and postal operations. DynCorp initially protested the award and then dropped its objections.

US Government seizure of the internet has begun; DHS takes over 76 websites

If you look for The Red Pill and it's suddenly gone, you know what happened. Won't be the first time. I've actually started this blog THREE times over the years. Picture THAT!!

(NaturalNews) As part of a new expansion of government power over information, the Department of Homeland Security has begun seizing and shutting down internet websites (web domains) without due process or a proper trial. DHS simply seizes web domains that it wants to and posts an ominous "Department of Justice" logo on the web site. See an example at http://torrent-finder.com

Over 75 websites were seized and shut down last week, and there is no indication that the government will stop such efforts. Right now, their focus is websites that they claim "violate copyrights," yet the torrent-finder.com website that was seized by DHS contained no copyrighted content whatsoever. It was merely a search engine website that linked to destinations where people could access copyrighted content. Google also links to copyrighted content -- does that mean the feds will soon seize Google, too? (Hail No! They need Google to help them do the dirty work. Google is a part of the problem.)

These seizures were conducted on the basis of language in the DMCA law, which is vastly overreaching in its powers (it was passed to appease the music recording industry and the RIAA). Even so, the U.S. Senate is right now considering passing yet another law -- COICA -- the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/11/...), a new law that would give the federal government even more power to shut down websites it opposed.

Government could shut down alternative health websites
Where is all this going? Today the U.S. government is targeting websites focused on copyright violations, but if the public tolerates this government-sponsored censorship of the web, it's only a matter of time before these government powers are expanded to control the content of the internet.

Over the last few years, several U.S. Senators have already attempted to outlaw vitamins and nutritional supplements. One lawmaker even suggested that "alternative health" information should be outlawed on the internet in order to "protect" people from information that isn't aligned with the drugs-and-surgery approach to sick care. It's only a matter of time, it seems, before the U.S. government uses its new power of seizing internet websites as an information warfare weapon to silence anyone who opposes FDA and the Big Pharma agenda.

In fact, under these new laws, there's no limit to what websites the U.S. government could choose to seize and shut down. This is the beginning of the federal takeover of the internet, where all websites that don't fall in line with "official" government-approved information are now potential targets of DHS seizures.

One music website seized by DHS -- RapGodFather.com -- was seized merely because its users posted comments linking to file-sharing websites (http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/11/...). All websites using the word "Face" could soon be seized
The reach of tyrants knows no limits. As widely reported throughout the popular press last week, the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has assigned Facebook a trademark monopoly over the word "Face." (http://techcrunch.com/2010/11/23/pa...) This means that any website using the word "face" could theoretically be seized by the DHS under the DMCA.

Lest you think this is some impossible exaggeration of the law, keep in mind that governments always misuse laws to go far beyond their original intended purpose. The RICO Act, for example, which was originally passed in 1970 to combat the mafia, is now used nearly every day against individuals and small businesses (http://www.ricoact.com).

Similarly, the Patriot Act signed into law by President Bush after the 9/11 attacks was originally intended to be applied to international terrorists. But now in the United States, it is routinely used against animal rights activists and environmental protection groups (http://www.aclu.org/national-securi...).

These rogue abuses of federal law create a pattern of expanding government powers that increasingly threaten the Constitutional rights of American citizens. To seize a person's website without due process is both a violation of that person's First Amendment rights (Free Speech) as well as their Fifth Amendment rights.

The Fifth Amendment states:

No person shall be... deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

And yet this seizure of websites by the DHS is doing precisely that -- depriving people of property without due process of law.

The U.S. federal government, as we have increasingly seen through the actions of the TSA, DEA and DHS, does not recognize nor honor the Bill of Rights. Nor does it believe the U.S. Constitution has any authority whatsoever. The upshot of this is that all Americans citizens are now living under a system of government tyranny, where government agents may molest you at the airports or seize your website if they don't like what you're saying online.

Impending Danger Threatens the Life of Veteran Journalist and Activist Mumia Abu-Jamal

The life of African American leader and death-row prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal is in new danger. A pending US Supreme Court ruling on a case in Ohio could set the stage for the reinstatement of Mumia's death sentence.

Activists continue to voice their anger at US judicial injustices. They are calling for a fair trial of the internationally renowned journalist and activists Mumia Abu-Jamal who has spent the last 30 years in US jails.

Incredibly corrupt American judicial system has convicted Abu-Jamal for a crime the veteran journalist denies he had committed. Meanwhile, the 2008 US presidential candidate, Gloria La Riva, has recently criticized court proceedings in Abu-Jamal’s case, describing the verdict of the death penalty as a clear example of shameful racism in the United States.

Last year, the US Supreme Court declined to hear Abu-Jamal's appeal for a new trial. The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia has upheld his conviction for the murder of Officer Danny Faulkner. In other words, the highly racist judicial system seem to have decided that Mumia will never get out of jail even if all evidence point to his innocence.

Following is Gloria La Riva’s appeal from the ANSWER Coalition to people from around the world - particularly Muslims – to help save Mumia’s life from the ongoing prejudices.

"The life of African American leader and death-row prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal is in new danger. A pending US Supreme Court ruling on a case in Ohio could set the stage for the reinstatement of Mumia's death sentence. Mumia's case is also separately before the US Supreme Court, but presented by Philadelphia prosecutors seeking to have his death sentence reinstated," the statement said.

Prosecutors and politicians in Pennsylvania and Philadelphia have vengefully sought to execute Mumia for 28 years. He has been on death row since 1983, when he was wrongly convicted of killing Philadelphia policeman Daniel Faulkner on Dec. 9, 1981.

"In Mumia's trial, flagrant violations-false police testimony, coercion of witnesses, judicial and prosecutorial misconduct, exclusion of Black jurors, inadequate defense and pervasive racism-led to his wrongful conviction and death sentence. The overriding issue that allowed these violations is the deeply racist and repressive nature of Philadelphia's ruling apparatus and collusion by the police, prosecutors and courts," La Riva stated.

Mumia was a well-known radical journalist frequently covering the blatant injustice directed at the MOVE organization, which was heavily targeted by the police. In his independent journalism, Mumia exposed the racist brutality of the police and other injustices.

Years after his conviction, it was revealed that he was under extensive surveillance by the FBI, local police and other agencies for having been a member of the Black Panther Party in his teens. His political affiliations were used against him in a highly prejudicial manner during trial.

Knowing that justice can't be won in the courts without a people's struggle, a worldwide movement has grown around Mumia's fight for freedom. Supporters in dozens of countries and in the United States have mobilized countless actions on his behalf.

The former US presidential candidate then added that an urgent national mobilization is now underway to demand that US. Attorney General Eric Holder hear supporters' arguments that Mumia's civil and constitutional rights were violated throughout his arrest, trial and sentencing.

In Washington, D.C., on Thurs., Nov. 12, Mumia's supporters presented thousands of letters and petitions to Holder at the Department of Justice, calling on him to examine the case as an urgent matter of civil rights.

Substantial evidence exists to prove Mumia's innocence if it were heard in a new trial.

Meantime, La Riva blasted US justice system, and stated, "Yet-as is true with thousands of other defendants in the US "justice" system-procedural restrictions in US law render the appeals process virtually ineffective. Poverty and the inability to acquire proper counsel are major factors in wrongful convictions. And convictions are virtually impossible to overturn."

Most harmful of all to death-row inmates is the draconian Antiterrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996 (AEDPA), signed into law by President Bill Clinton. One of its provisions prohibits the federal courts from granting appeals relief to a defendant who is convicted in state court unless there is "unreasonable" application of federal law by the state court, an almost insurmountable bar.

There is also a one-year limit for one final habeas corpus petition after direct appeals are exhausted. For many inmates, one year is not enough time to prepare a legal appeal.

AEDPA is the main reason Mumia and other death-row prisoners have been denied new hearings on substantive issues that could win their freedom or the lifting of the death sentence.

The activist further recalled other cases in the US justice system, and added, "Another innocent man in grave danger of being executed is Troy Anthony Davis, a Georgia man several judges acknowledge is innocent. But because of AEDPA's restrictions over the right of appeal, these same judges cite AEDPA to deny him justice."

One positive step in Mumia's long legal fight was when his death sentence was overturned in 2001. Federal District Judge William H. Yohn, Jr. ruled that improper instructions were given to the jury in Mumia's 1982 sentencing.

Yohn cited the important case Mills v. Maryland, which set a standard in which a jury's majority-rather than unanimous agreement-was sufficient for weighing mitigating circumstances to recommend a life sentence instead of execution. Although it was a state court decision, Mills v. Maryland has been accepted in many federal appeals cases. But now, Ohio and Pennsylvania want that case set aside to exercise their "state's rights."

In an example of double-standard attitude in US judicial system, La Riva noted, "For the state of Ohio, the US Supreme Court has agreed to hear the death-penalty case, Smith v. Spisak, of a neo-Nazi who murdered three people in 1982 and who, during his trial, openly bragged about it and promised to kill more people. Spisak's attorneys have argued that the jury was erroneously told that they must be unanimous in considering any mitigating factors that could weigh in favor of a life sentence instead of execution."

"As in Yohn's overturning of Mumia's sentencing, the Sixth US Circuit Court of Appeals agreed in Spisak's appeal that Mills v. Maryland was applicable, and that the jury was improperly instructed that they could not consider mitigating circumstances unless they all agreed."

In 2001, when Yohn cited Mills v. Maryland to overturn Mumia's death sentence, he ordered the prosecution to hold a new hearing within 180 days to determine Mumia's new sentence, either life imprisonment or death. But the Philadelphia prosecutors immediately appealed to have the death sentence reinstated without a hearing, and now it is before the US Supreme Court.

If the court were to affirm "states' rights" on death penalty sentencing, the state of Pennsylvania could try to move quickly to sign a death warrant against Mumia.

There is extensive proof of a vengeful and racist prosecution against Mumia by the Philadelphia police, prosecutors and the judiciary ever since a policeman, Daniel Faulkner, was shot and killed Dec. 9, 1981, in Philadelphia.

On April 6 of this year, Mumia's own appeal for a new trial was rejected by the US Supreme Court, on the issue of Black people being excluded from the jury that decided his trial.

"By refusing to hear Mumia's appeal, the Supreme Court ignored its own decision in the precedent-setting 1986 Batson v. Kentucky (476 U.S. 79) case, which says that jurors may not be excluded solely because of race, a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment," the statement added.

In the writ of certiorari petition to the court, Mumia's attorneys showed that 11 Black people were struck from the jury pool by the prosecutors. Only two Black people sat on the jury, the rest of the jurors were white. The African American population of Philadelphia is 43 percent African American.

"Racism runs deep in Philadelphia's and persecution of Black people has been the order of the day," the statement reiterated.

It is important to remember that in 1985 the Philadelphia police firebombed the home of the MOVE organization, an African American group that had been under attack for years. Eleven people-including five children-died in that brutal SWAT aerial bombing and siege. More than 60 homes in the neighborhood were destroyed by the fire. No police were ever held accountable.

An overwhelming percentage of death-row prisoners in Pennsylvania are Black. Although the state's African American population is 10.8 percent, the percentage of Black inmates on Pennsylvania's death row is 59 percent, 130 people out of a total of 221.

The judge in Mumia's trial, Albert Sabo, came to be known as the "hanging judge." He sentenced far more people to death row than any other judge in the state. Of all the 17 prisoners currently on death row whom he sentenced, 14 are Black, one is white and two are Asian.

A court stenographer, Terri Maurer Carter, signed an affidavit in one of Mumia's subsequent appeals that she heard Sabo say during a recess in the trial, "I'm going to help fry that n----." [racist word for a Black person--glr]

Yet, despite a clear preponderance of Mumia's civil and constitutional rights being violated, state and federal appeals throughout the years since his 1982 wrongful conviction have been rejected.

Many Philadelphia police and politicians have made their political careers through the systematic repression of Black people in that city.

The notoriously brutal Frank L. Rizzo was police commissioner from 1967 to 1971, during which time the Black Panther Party offices were assaulted, MOVE members attacked and the African American community subjected to great repression.

Rizzo was then elected mayor from 1972 to 1980. Ed Rendell, the district attorney who led the prosecution of Mumia, is now Pennsylvania governor. He has promised to sign Mumia's death warrant.

Tom Ridge, who became governor in 1994 and signed Mumia's death warrant in 1995, signed more than 224 execution warrants while in office, five times more than the two previous governors had done in 25 years. His award was being appointed as the first Homeland Security director after 9/11.

Now, Seth Williams, assistant city prosecutor, Democrat and African American, campaigned for the district attorney position this year. He promised to fight for the reinstatement of Mumia's death sentence if elected. On Nov. 4, Williams was elected. He was supported by the 14,600-member police association.

UK schools doing UFO crash drills

The UK know something we don't know??? Or is it that we DO know, but we're just to busy doing the backstroke in D-Nile?

There seems to be a growing trend among schools to stage a UFO crash, and then teach students how to react, as well as to “properly” investigate and report on the incident.

It sounds like a lot of fun, and a great way to fire up a student’s imagination as well as writing skills. Hell, I wish we would have done a staged UFO crash at my school.

The latest “UFO drill” took place Wed, Sept 29, at Sandford Primary School in the UK. The kids were treated to a full UFO crash scenario that included wreckage, police tape, and real police officers. (Perhaps it was only lacking men from the government telling the children not to talk about what was seen.)

What’s interesting is that “police were on hand to show the children how to properly investigate the UFO crash site.” Um, were any of the officers speaking from experience?

A news article at The Weston Mercury elaborates on the role played by the officers:

Teacher and organiser Victoria Shepherd said: “PCSO Wright and PC Church were brilliant. They helped the children secure the scene and talked about what to do in an emergency, how they gathered evidence, how to interview witnesses etc.”

Are UFO drills becoming something of a routine part of the curriculum in the UK? It’s certainly becoming more and more of a common event. Each time, it’s a joint exercise put in place by the school and local law enforcement.

A similar drill took place in Feb of 2009 when Lanchester Endowed Parochial Primary, in County Durham, staged a surprise “crash” behind the school. In Sept 2008 “children from an Edgware school were made to believe aliens had landed in their playground by teachers and police.” Again, each time it was conducted by the school system and police — teaching children what to do in event of a UFO event. Afterward, the kids are asked to write about their experience.

Others didn't know what a complaint was, or even what was meant by personal property. Most troubling, several said they knew they were lying when they signed the foreclosure affidavits and that they agreed with the defense lawyers' accusations about document fraud.

"The mortgage servicers hired people who would never question authority," said Peter Ticktin, a Deerfield Beach, Fla., lawyer who is defending 3,000 homeowners in foreclosure cases. As part of his work, Ticktin gathered 150 depositions from bank employees who say they signed foreclosure affidavits without reviewing the documents or ever laying eyes on them — earning them the name "robo-signers."

The deposed employees worked for the mortgage service divisions of banks such as Bank of America and JP Morgan Chase, as well as for mortgage servicers like Litton Loan Servicing, a division of Goldman Sachs.

Ticktin said he would make the testimony available to state and federal agencies that are investigating financial institutions for allegations of possible mortgage fraud. This comes on the eve of an expected announcement Wednesday from 40 state attorneys general that they will launch a collective probe into the mortgage industry.

This was an industrywide scheme designed to defraud homeowners," Ticktin said.

The depositions paint a surreal picture of foreclosure experts who didn't understand even the most elementary aspects of the mortgage or foreclosure process — even though they were entrusted as the records custodians of homeowners' loans. In one deposition taken in Houston, a foreclosure supervisor with Litton Loan couldn't define basic terms like promissory note, mortgagee, lien, receiver, jurisdiction, circuit court, plaintiff's assignor or defendant. She testified that she didn't know why a spouse might claim interest in a property, what the required conditions were for a bank to foreclose or who the holder of the mortgage note was. "I don't know the ins and outs of the loan, I just sign documents," she said at one point.

Until now, only a handful of depositions from robo-signers have come to light. But the sheer volume of the new depositions will make it more difficult for financial institutions to argue that robo-signing was an aberrant practice in a handful of rogue back offices.

Judges are unlikely to look favorably on a bank that claims paperwork flaws don't matter because the borrower was in default on the loan, said Kendall Coffey, a former Miami U.S. attorney and author of the book "Foreclosures."

"There has to be a cornerstone of integrity to the process," Coffey said.

Bank of America responded to Tiktin's depositions by re-affirming that an internal review has shown that its foreclosures have been accurate. "This review will ensure we have a full understanding of any potential issues and quickly address them," Bank of America spokesman Dan Frahm said. Frahm added that, on average, the bank's foreclosure customers have not made a payment in more than 18 months.

JP Morgan Chase spokesman Thomas Kelly said the bank has requested that courts not enter into any judgments until the bank had reviewed its procedures. But Kelly added that the bank believes that all the underlying facts of the cases involved in the document fraud allegations are true.

Litton Loan Servicing did not respond to a request for comment.

Even before the foreclosure scandal broke, the housing market was in the midst of an ugly detoxification. Now the escalating crisis is likely to prolong the housing depression for at least another few years. The allegations are opening the entire chain of foreclosure proceedings to legal challenge. Some foreclosures could be overturned. Others could be deemed illegal.

For a housing recovery to occur, all the foreclosed properties — which could account for 40 percent of all residential sales by 2012 — need to be re-scrutinized by the banks and resold on the market. Now, with so much inventory under a legal threat, the process will become severely delayed.

"This just adds more uncertainty to the whole mortgage process, so buyers are asking themselves: do I want to buy a home in this environment?" says Cris deRitis, director of credit analytics at Moody's Analytics. "We need to fix these issues before the economy can recover."

Though some have chalked up the foreclosure debacle to an overblown case of paperwork bungling, the underlying legal issues are far more serious. Yes, swearing that you've reviewed documents you've never seen is a legal offense. But at the center of the foreclosure scandal looms something much larger: the question of who actually owns the loans and who has the right to foreclose upon them. The paperwork issues being raised by lawyers and attorneys generals have the potential to blight not just the titles of foreclosed properties but also those belonging to homeowners who have never missed a mortgage payment.

So far, JP Morgan Chase, PNC Financial and Litton Loan Servicing have stopped some foreclosure proceedings in 23 states. Bank of America and GMAC, recently renamed Ally, have extended their moratoriums to all 50 states. Wells Fargo and Citigroup have said they are continuing with foreclosures, adding that they are confident in their documents and processes.

But Citigroup has now backpedaled some on that assertion. The bank sent out a press release Tuesday that it was no longer using the law firm of "foreclosure king" David Stern, now under investigation by the Florida attorney general's office. "Pending the outcome of the AG's investigation, Citi is not referring new matters to this firm," the bank said in an e-mailed statement.

Late last week, in an interview with the Florida attorney general, a former senior paralegal in Stern's firm described a boiler-room atmosphere in which employees were pressured to forge signatures, backdate documents, swap Social Security numbers, inflate billings and pass around notary stamps as if they were salt.

Stern's lawyer, Jeffrey Tew, did not respond to a request for comment.

Meanwhile, the public outrage continues to mount. In what is perhaps a sign of things to come, a Simi Valley, Calif., couple and their nine children broke into their foreclosed home over the weekend and moved back in, according to television station KABC of Simi Valley. The couple, Jim and Danielle Earl, say they were working with the bank to catch up on payments until they discovered a $25,000 difference between what they owed and what the bank said they owed. The family was evicted from their Spanish-style two-story in July. The home has been sold, and the new owner was due to move in soon.

The Earls and their attorney now allege that they were victims of fraudulent paperwork.

I remember during the 2008 presidential elections, Obama while running for office kept saying over and over and over what he was going to do for the "MIDDLE CLASS". I anxiously awaited to hear him just once mention what he was going to do for the "POOR". Sadly and to my expectation it never happened. Im beginning to wonder if the word "Poor" is even in his vocabulary....never once do I recall him even saying that word, let alone speaking anything about this widely populated class of people. I mean really....think about it. When did you ever hear Obama say ANYTHING about the poor here in America? It's always been the middle class right? I grew up middle class so I know what it is to live like that, and the way I and many others I know who grew up Middle Class are living now? Well, let's just say, THIS ain't it! I'll tell you what it is though....right now, it's an everyday struggle!

So as I sit here and look at these people in the video below, although some of us are not as bad off, the only thing keeping most of us from being just like them is a matter of one paycheck and a little bit of time.

Here's the reality my friend, this might be a little hard to take, and a shock to your system, but there is no MIDDLE CLASS! And there hasn't been for a minute. There are only TWO classes of people now. You're either rich or you're poor....and that is all. Don't be mad hell Im poor my damn self, and it was hard for me to accept too. So what in the sam hail was Obama talking about? Who are these so called middle class people and where are they hiding?

Here are six ways you can tell if YOU ARE POOR:

If you're living from pay check to pay check: YOU ARE POOR!
If you have even one shut off notice laying around your house: YOU ARE POOR! (Rich people and middle class can afford to pay their bills on time. They don't have to "Put Somethin' On It.")
If you shop at the family dollar, dollar tree, or save-a-lot: YOU ARE POOR!(People who can afford better only go to name brand stores and buy name brand items.)
If you have no savings because as soon as you get paid all your money goes to bills so you DON'T get any shut off notices, guess what? YOU ARE POOR! ( I find that most people with money have the luxury to be able to save money because they don't have to use up everything they get as soon as they get it.)
If money is always an issue, I hate to tell you this, but YOU ARE POOR! (Money is never an issue to those that have a nice amount of it.)

If you have to borrow money, pawn or steal things in order to help make ends meet then ooohhh my child, there is no doubt YOUR AZZ IS POOR TOO!

Feuds led Pa. woman to shoot colleagues

PHILADELPHIA — A Kraft Foods plant worker who had been suspended for feuding with colleagues, then escorted from the building, returned minutes later with a handgun, found her foes in a break room and executed two of them with a single bullet each and critically wounded a third, police said Friday.

Yvonne Hiller, 43, had gotten into an argument Thursday evening with her co-workers at the northeast Philadelphia plant, police said. After she was disciplined, she went to her vehicle, made several phone calls, and then grabbed a .357 Magnum and used it to force her way past security guards at the front gate.

About 100 people were at work at the plant, which makes Nabisco cookies and crackers.
Hiller walked to the third-floor mixing area and found four people in the break room. She had no quarrels with one woman and told her to leave. She then opened fire on the others, Philadelphia Homicide Capt. James Clark said.

"She believed they were spraying chemicals at her, saying things behind her back," Clark said.
After leaving the break room, Hiller went down a hallway and fired shots at the supervisor who had suspended her and at a mechanic who was using a walkie-talkie to alert police and co-workers to her whereabouts, police said. She missed both.

Hiller finally went to a second-floor office and called police to tell them what she had done, authorities said. Seven other workers were hiding in a closet nearby.

Cpl. Janice Leader, a 911 dispatcher, told reporters Friday that Hiller called 911, saying "I'm the one you're looking for" and reporting that she had been harassed at work.

Keeping her on the line, Leader said she told Hiller to put the gun down and place her hands on her head so officers wouldn't take any aggressive action against her.

When tactical police who had entered the plant found her, Hiller was in a fetal position on the floor, the gun beside her.

Police called the mechanic a hero who "did a phenomenal job" in alerting employees to evacuate the building and directing officers to where Hiller was.

"By following the suspect at great peril to himself — and we can see that by the fact that he was shot at and almost hit — he reduced our tactical problem quite dramatically," Chief Inspector Joe Sullivan said.

Police identified the victims as Tanya Renee Wilson, 47; LaTonya Sharon Brown, 36; and Bryant A. Dalton, 39, all of Philadelphia. Wilson and Brown died at the plant.
Dalton, shot in the neck, remained in intensive care Friday at Jefferson University Hospital, police said.

The plant will remain closed indefinitely, Kraft said.

"We suspended the employee when she became agitated and used profanity. We wanted the opportunity to investigate the situation," Kraft said in a statement Friday.

Hiller was charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, aggravated assault and other charges. She had a permit to carry the gun, authorities said.

Hiller has worked for Kraft for about 15 years, and had been in repeated arguments there in the past several years, a few of them physical, Clark said.

Yet a next-door neighbor described Hiller as a quiet woman who kept to herself but said she was polite and exchanged pleasantries when they saw each other.

Catherine Hillgen, who has lived on the tidy middle-class city block for about 45 years, said Hiller moved in several years ago with her son but recently has been living alone.

She initially dismissed a neighbor's report Thursday that Hiller might be involved in a fatal workplace shooting, but then heard her named on the news Friday.

"It was a complete shock," Hillgen said. "I would not expect it."

Kraft, based in Northfield, Ill., also makes Oreo cookies, Philadelphia cream cheese, Oscar Mayer bacon and other products.

Mass shootings are rarely carried out by women, said Dr. Park Dietz, president of Threat Assessment Group Inc., a Newport Beach, Calif.-based violence prevention firm.

Earlier this year, Amy Bishop, a former instructor and researcher at the University of Alabama's Huntsville campus, was charged with murder in a campus shooting spree that left three biology professors dead and three other employees wounded. She claimed the shootings "didn't happen."

Thursday's shooting came just weeks after a driver who had been accused of stealing from a Manchester, Conn., beer distributorship fatally shot eight people, then himself.

The driver, who was black, had seethed with a sense of racial injustice in his job, said his girlfriend. But the beer distributor's president said there was no record to support claims of "racial insensitivity."

Apple DNA code is cracked by geneticists

A team of 86 global scientists have sequenced the genetic code of the Golden Delicious apple for the first time.

The DNA breakthrough could result in new and improved apple varieties which are more resistant to disease.

Scientists from 20 institutions took two years to unravel the code - the largest plant genome uncovered to date.

The findings are published in the leading journal Nature Genetics.
'Competitive advantage'

Professor Riccardo Velasco at the Edmund Mach Foundation in Italy, who led the research team, said that sequencing the genome "would have huge implications for applied breeding".
"This breakthrough will help us to develop high quality traits and bring new things to the apple market," he told BBC News.

Kate Evans from Washington State University's Tree Fruit Research and Extension Centre said the discovery would help the "long-term sustainable production" of apples.

Scientists hope improvements to the popular Golden Delicious variety - which originated in West Virginia, US, more than a century ago - could enhance the taste, look, and crunchiness of the fruit.

The researchers were also able to trace the apple's ancestry, and found the domestic fruit's wild ancestor Malus sieversii originally grew in the mountains of southern Kazakhstan. There are more than 7,500 varieties of apple known today.

The researchers also discovered that the huge size of the apple genome originated when it got accidentally duplicated far back in its evolutionary history.

A large number of genes can give plants a competitive advantage, providing more in-built defences against disease.

Employees in workplace shooting still reeling over 'senseless act'

Now is NOT the time to be terminating people in person. They should have called this guy at home and let him go. Then they should have had security on alert with instructions not to let him in should he decide to show up. People are losing their minds because of the economy and a high unemployment rate. How tragic.

Manchester, Connecticut (CNN) -- As police investigate the deadly shooting spree at Hartford Distributors and prepare to identify its victims, the company will meet Wednesday with employees, some of whom have been with the company for more than 30 years.

"They want to meet in private, an opportunity for people to grieve and to come together and to address the remainder of their family members, meaning their employees," said James Battaglio, a spokesman for the family that owns the business.

Omar Thornton, 34, walked into a room early Tuesday at the beverage distributorship where he worked in Manchester, Connecticut. Company and union officials played a video. He calmly watched images that purportedly showed him stealing from a truck.

An employee of Hartford Distributors for two years and a driver for one, Thornton was given a choice of resigning or being fired, union and company officials said.

He signed a resignation paper, was escorted out of the room and toward the door. He asked for a drink of water, company CEO Ross Hollander told CNN. Then, Thornton pulled out a handgun and began firing, officials said.

Within minutes, the gunman and eight other people were dead, and two others were wounded, according to Manchester police and a union official. Police swarmed to the scene, but never had a chance to talk with Thornton, who apparently shot himself to death in an office.

The shootings left the company, city and state in shock. Relatives and acquaintances said Thornton was known for his steady demeanor.

"My heart and prayers go out to the employees and families of the victims," Gov. M. Jodi Rell said in a statement. "In the wake of this tragedy, we are all left asking the same questions: How could someone do this? Why did they do this? It was a senseless act of violence that has left us all shaken."

A girlfriend of Thornton indicated he was a victim of racial harassment at the beverage center, the mother of the girlfriend told CNN.

Thornton told his girlfriend he had reported to a company supervisor and a union representative about the harassment but they did nothing about it, Joanne Hannah said Tuesday.

Teamsters officials deny allegations that Thornton, who was black, snapped because of racial harassment.

Thornton quickly advanced through the company, said Chris Roos, secretary and treasurer of Teamsters Local 1035, which represents the company's drivers, but in a way that shouldn't have been threatening to anyone.

"He became a driver because it was his turn to become a driver," Roos said. "No one was intimidated by him moving up. It was done by seniority."

Eight people were killed in various parts of the facility, Police Chief Marc Montminy said, and one shot may have been fired outside.

"There were clearly some performance issues," Montminy said.
Roos told CNN that Thornton had been accused of stealing "product" off a beer truck on two separate occasions. Roos said Steve Hollander provided details of the 7 a.m. meeting.

"Omar asked if he could resign, and he signed a resignation paper. The meeting was over. They were walking out of the meeting, and that's when it all happened," Roos said.
Bryan Cirigliano, 51, the shop steward for the union and the union's president, was in the meeting. He was among those killed, Roos said.

"He was a great guy. Unbelievable family man, " Roos said of Cirigliano. "Very community-active. Loved his daughters, loved his wife."

Joanne Hannah said Thornton showed her daughter, Kristie, a cell phone photo of racial epithets and a stick figure with a noose around its neck drawn on a restroom stall. He was in a stall once and heard a co-worker say "they wanted that n----- out of there," she said.

She said Thornton was one of two black employees. "This poor guy got pushed to the limit."
Kristie Hannah and Thornton spent Monday night in Enfield together, Joanne Hannah said. "She said he acted his normal self."

Joanne Hannah said Thornton got a pistol permit about two years ago. She said she was unaware of the allegations of theft levied against Thornton, but she doubted he was guilty. "He was too honest."

Roos said Thornton never filed a racial complaint with the union or a government agency.
"This had nothing to do with racial stuff. This was a sick individual. He just snapped," Roos said.

James Battaglio, a spokesman for the family that owns the distributorship, said he had no information about the allegations of harassment.

Hannah and relatives of Thornton said the suspected gunman called his mother Tuesday morning and said he had shot five people.

Thornton's uncle, Will Holliday, told CNN affiliate WFSB that in the call, the suspected shooter said, "'I killed the five racists that was there that was bothering me' and he said, 'That's it, the cops are going to come in. So I'm going to take care of myself.'"

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that Thornton had financial problems and was hounded by debt collectors for years. He had previously filed for bankruptcy and had student loans, the Times said.

Police would not release identities of the dead late Tuesday. Montminy said he did not know how many were specifically targeted.

Company receptionist Marissa Busiere told CNN affiliate WFSB she heard another co-worker screaming after shots rang out inside the business.
"'He's shooting! He's shooting! Call 911.' And everyone started running out of the building," Busiere said.

At the time, there were about 35 or 40 people in the office and warehouse, Brett Hollander, the director of marketing and a member of the family that owns the company, told the Hartford Courant.

Three people were rushed to Hartford Hospital, and one of them later died, a doctor told reporters. Police declined to say how many people were wounded.

"Everyone is devastated by this tragic and senseless act," Battaglio, the spokesman for the Hollander family, told the Courant. He said the family intends to focus its attention on the families of the victims.

"This is a tight-knit organization. This is tragic, this is senseless. In addition, they lost people with whom they've been extremely close to over the decades," Battaglio told CNN.
At least one nearby business was closed Tuesday afternoon.

"Pray for the families of the people at Hartford Distributors," a recorded phone message at Fluid Dynamics said.

Roos said employees are still reeling after the violence.

"I'm devastated. I'm trying to think how I'm going to get nine families' lives back in order again and help them cope with this. How can we help them cope with this situation? We're going to try to get employee-assistance people and union therapists to help and speak with these guys," he said.

Remains of John the Baptist found in Bulgaria?

Archaeologists in Bulgaria claim they have found remains of John the Baptist while excavating the site of a 5th century monastery on the Black Sea island of Sveti Ivan.

A reliquary – a container for holy relics – discovered last week under the monastery’s basilica was opened on Sunday and found to contain bone fragments of a skull, a hand and a tooth, Bulgaria’s official news agency BTA reported.

Excavation leader Kazimir Popkonstantinov lifted the reliquary’s lid in a ceremony in the coastal town of Sozopol attended by dignitaries including the Bishop of Sliven, Yoanikii, and Bozhidar Dimitrov, a government minister and director of Bulgaria’s National History Museum, BTA said.

Further tests on the fragments are due to be carried out. But Popkonstantinov is convinced the relics belong to John the Baptist because of a Greek inscription on the reliquary referring to June 24, the date when Christians celebrate John the Baptist’s birth, according to the website of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

A later monastery on the island, built in the 11th century, was dedicated to John the Baptist – "Sveti Ivan" means "St. John" in Bulgarian and other Slavic languages. Popkonstantinov told Bulgarian news agency Focus that it was possible the earlier basilica was also dedicated to the saint.

Christians believe John the Baptist prophesied the birth of Christ and baptized Jesus in the River Jordan. According to the Gospels, John was put to death by beheading on the orders of the local ruler, Herod Antipas. He is considered a particularly significant figure in the Orthodox Church.

The reliquary is made of alabaster and dates from approximately the middle of the 5th century, Popkonstantinov told reporters. The southern Black Sea coast was then part of the Byzantine Empire, ruled from Byzantium, now Istanbul in Turkey.

Popkonstantinov told Focus the reliquary was the first to be discovered in the region.
Dimitrov told Focus the relics may once have been donated to the monastery by the Byzantine church. The Topkapi Palace museum in Istanbul is one of several sites claiming to house relics purported to be those of John the Baptist.

Federal authorities are investigating the following Web posting linked to Joseph Stack, the pilot of the single-engine plane that crashed into an Austin, Texas, office building that housed IRS offices.
If you’re reading this, you’re no doubt asking yourself, “Why did this have to happen?” The simple truth is that it is complicated and has been coming for a long time. The writing process, started many months ago, was intended to be therapy in the face of the looming realization that there isn’t enough therapy in the world that can fix what is really broken. Needless to say, this rant could fill volumes with example after example if I would let it. I find the process of writing it frustrating, tedious, and probably pointless… especially given my gross inability to gracefully articulate my thoughts in light of the storm raging in my head. Exactly what is therapeutic about that I’m not sure, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

We are all taught as children that without laws there would be no society, only anarchy. Sadly, starting at early ages we in this country have been brainwashed to believe that, in return for our dedication and service, our government stands for justice for all. We are further brainwashed to believe that there is freedom in this place, and that we should be ready to lay our lives down for the noble principals represented by its founding fathers. Remember? One of these was “no taxation without representation”. I have spent the total years of my adulthood unlearning that crap from only a few years of my childhood. These days anyone who really stands up for that principal is promptly labeled a “crackpot”, traitor and worse.

While very few working people would say they haven’t had their fair share of taxes (as can I), in my lifetime I can say with a great degree of certainty that there has never been a politician cast a vote on any matter with the likes of me or my interests in mind. Nor, for that matter, are they the least bit interested in me or anything I have to say.

Why is it that a handful of thugs and plunderers can commit unthinkable atrocities (and in the case of the GM executives, for scores of years) and when it’s time for their gravy train to crash under the weight of their gluttony and overwhelming stupidity, the force of the full federal government has no difficulty coming to their aid within days if not hours? Yet at the same time, the joke we call the American medical system, including the drug and insurance companies, are murdering tens of thousands of people a year and stealing from the corpses and victims they cripple, and this country’s leaders don’t see this as important as bailing out a few of their vile, rich cronies. Yet, the political “representatives” (thieves, liars, and self-serving scumbags is far more accurate) have endless time to sit around for year after year and debate the state of the “terrible health care problem”. It’s clear they see no crisis as long as the dead people don’t get in the way of their corporate profits rolling in.

And justice? You’ve got to be kidding!

How can any rational individual explain that white elephant conundrum in the middle of our tax system and, indeed, our entire legal system? Here we have a system that is, by far, too complicated for the brightest of the master scholars to understand. Yet, it mercilessly “holds accountable” its victims, claiming that they’re responsible for fully complying with laws not even the experts understand. The law “requires” a signature on the bottom of a tax filing; yet no one can say truthfully that they understand what they are signing; if that’s not “duress” than what is. If this is not the measure of a totalitarian regime, nothing is.

How did I get here?

My introduction to the real American nightmare starts back in the early ‘80s. Unfortunately after more than 16 years of school, somewhere along the line I picked up the absurd, pompous notion that I could read and understand plain English. Some friends introduced me to a group of people who were having ‘tax code’ readings and discussions. In particular, zeroed in on a section relating to the wonderful “exemptions” that make institutions like the vulgar, corrupt Catholic Church so incredibly wealthy. We carefully studied the law (with the help of some of the “best”, high-paid, experienced tax lawyers in the business), and then began to do exactly what the “big boys” were doing (except that we weren’t steeling from our congregation or lying to the government about our massive profits in the name of God). We took a great deal of care to make it all visible, following all of the rules, exactly the way the law said it was to be done.

The intent of this exercise and our efforts was to bring about a much-needed re-evaluation of the laws that allow the monsters of organized religion to make such a mockery of people who earn an honest living. However, this is where I learned that there are two “interpretations” for every law; one for the very rich, and one for the rest of us… Oh, and the monsters are the very ones making and enforcing the laws; the inquisition is still alive and well today in this country.

That little lesson in patriotism cost me $40,000+, 10 years of my life, and set my retirement plans back to 0. It made me realize for the first time that I live in a country with an ideology that is based on a total and complete lie. It also made me realize, not only how naive I had been, but also the incredible stupidity of the American public; that they buy, hook, line, and sinker, the crap about their “freedom”… and that they continue to do so with eyes closed in the face of overwhelming evidence and all that keeps happening in front of them.
Before even having to make a shaky recovery from the sting of the first lesson on what justice really means in this country (around 1984 after making my way through engineering school and still another five years of “paying my dues”), I felt I finally had to take a chance of launching my dream of becoming an independent engineer.

On the subjects of engineers and dreams of independence, I should digress somewhat to say that I’m sure that I inherited the fascination for creative problem solving from my father. I realized this at a very young age.
The significance of independence, however, came much later during my early years of college; at the age of 18 or 19 when I was living on my own as student in an apartment in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. My neighbor was an elderly retired woman (80+ seemed ancient to me at that age) who was the widowed wife of a retired steel worker. Her husband had worked all his life in the steel mills of central Pennsylvania with promises from big business and the union that, for his 30 years of service, he would have a pension and medical care to look forward to in his retirement. Instead he was one of the thousands who got nothing because the incompetent mill management and corrupt union (not to mention the government) raided their pension funds and stole their retirement. All she had was social security to live on.

In retrospect, the situation was laughable because here I was living on peanut butter and bread (or Ritz crackers when I could afford to splurge) for months at a time. When I got to know this poor figure and heard her story I felt worse for her plight than for my own (I, after all, I thought I had everything to in front of me). I was genuinely appalled at one point, as we exchanged stories and commiserated with each other over our situations, when she in her grandmotherly fashion tried to convince me that I would be “healthier” eating cat food (like her) rather than trying to get all my substance from peanut butter and bread. I couldn’t quite go there, but the impression was made. I decided that I didn’t trust big business to take care of me, and that I would take responsibility for my own future and myself.

Return to the early ‘80s, and here I was off to a terrifying start as a ‘wet-behind-the-ears’ contract software engineer… and two years later, thanks to the fine backroom, midnight effort by the sleazy executives of Arthur Andersen (the very same folks who later brought us Enron and other such calamities) and an equally sleazy New York Senator (Patrick Moynihan), we saw the passage of 1986 tax reform act with its section 1706.

For you who are unfamiliar, here is the core text of the IRS Section 1706, defining the treatment of workers (such as contract engineers) for tax purposes. SEC. 1706. TREATMENT OF CERTAIN TECHNICAL PERSONNEL.
(a) IN GENERAL - Section 530 of the Revenue Act of 1978 is amended by adding at the end thereof the following new subsection:
(d) EXCEPTION. - This section shall not apply in the case of an individual who pursuant to an arrangement between the taxpayer and another person, provides services for such other person as an engineer, designer, drafter, computer programmer, systems analyst, or other similarly skilled worker engaged in a similar line of work.
(b) EFFECTIVE DATE. - The amendment made by this section shall apply to remuneration paid and services rendered after December 31, 1986.

Note:
Â· “another person” is the client in the traditional job-shop relationship.
Â· “taxpayer” is the recruiter, broker, agency, or job shop.
Â· “individual”, “employee”, or “worker” is you.

Admittedly, you need to read the treatment to understand what it is saying but it’s not very complicated. The bottom line is that they may as well have put my name right in the text of section (d). Moreover, they could only have been more blunt if they would have came out and directly declared me a criminal and non-citizen slave. Twenty years later, I still can’t believe my eyes.

During 1987, I spent close to $5000 of my ‘pocket change’, and at least 1000 hours of my time writing, printing, and mailing to any senator, congressman, governor, or slug that might listen; none did, and they universally treated me as if I was wasting their time. I spent countless hours on the L.A. freeways driving to meetings and any and all of the disorganized professional groups who were attempting to mount a campaign against this atrocity. This, only to discover that our efforts were being easily derailed by a few moles from the brokers who were just beginning to enjoy the windfall from the new declaration of their “freedom”. Oh, and don’t forget, for all of the time I was spending on this, I was loosing income that I couldn’t bill clients.
After months of struggling it had clearly gotten to be a futile exercise. The best we could get for all of our trouble is a pronouncement from an IRS mouthpiece that they weren’t going to enforce that provision (read harass engineers and scientists). This immediately proved to be a lie, and the mere existence of the regulation began to have its impact on my bottom line; this, of course, was the intended effect.

Again, rewind my retirement plans back to 0 and shift them into idle. If I had any sense, I clearly should have left abandoned engineering and never looked back.

Instead I got busy working 100-hour workweeks. Then came the L.A. depression of the early 1990s. Our leaders decided that they didn’t need the all of those extra Air Force bases they had in Southern California, so they were closed; just like that. The result was economic devastation in the region that rivaled the widely publicized Texas S&L fiasco. However, because the government caused it, no one gave a shit about all of the young families who lost their homes or street after street of boarded up houses abandoned to the wealthy loan companies who received government funds to “shore up” their windfall. Again, I lost my retirement.

Years later, after weathering a divorce and the constant struggle trying to build some momentum with my business, I find myself once again beginning to finally pick up some speed. Then came the .COM bust and the 911 nightmare. Our leaders decided that all aircraft were grounded for what seemed like an eternity; and long after that, ‘special’ facilities like San Francisco were on security alert for months. This made access to my customers prohibitively expensive. Ironically, after what they had done the Government came to the aid of the airlines with billions of our tax dollars … as usual they left me to rot and die while they bailed out their rich, incompetent cronies WITH MY MONEY! After these events, there went my business but not quite yet all of my retirement and savings.

By this time, I’m thinking that it might be good for a change. Bye to California, I’ll try Austin for a while. So I moved, only to find out that this is a place with a highly inflated sense of self-importance and where damn little real engineering work is done. I’ve never experienced such a hard time finding work. The rates are 1/3 of what I was earning before the crash, because pay rates here are fixed by the three or four large companies in the area who are in collusion to drive down prices and wages… and this happens because the justice department is all on the take and doesn’t give a fuck about serving anyone or anything but themselves and their rich buddies.

To survive, I was forced to cannibalize my savings and retirement, the last of which was a small IRA. This came in a year with mammoth expenses and not a single dollar of income. I filed no return that year thinking that because I didn’t have any income there was no need. The sleazy government decided that they disagreed. But they didn’t notify me in time for me to launch a legal objection so when I attempted to get a protest filed with the court I was told I was no longer entitled to due process because the time to file ran out. Bend over for another $10,000 helping of justice.

So now we come to the present. After my experience with the CPA world, following the business crash I swore that I’d never enter another accountant’s office again. But here I am with a new marriage and a boatload of undocumented income, not to mention an expensive new business asset, a piano, which I had no idea how to handle. After considerable thought I decided that it would be irresponsible NOT to get professional help; a very big mistake.

When we received the forms back I was very optimistic that they were in order. I had taken all of the years information to Bill Ross, and he came back with results very similar to what I was expecting. Except that he had neglected to include the contents of Sheryl’s unreported income; $12,700 worth of it. To make matters worse, Ross knew all along this was missing and I didn’t have a clue until he pointed it out in the middle of the audit. By that time it had become brutally evident that he was representing himself and not me.

This left me stuck in the middle of this disaster trying to defend transactions that have no relationship to anything tax-related (at least the tax-related transactions were poorly documented). Things I never knew anything about and things my wife had no clue would ever matter to anyone. The end result is… well, just look around.

I remember reading about the stock market crash before the “great” depression and how there were wealthy bankers and businessmen jumping out of windows when they realized they screwed up and lost everything. Isn’t it ironic how far we’ve come in 60 years in this country that they now know how to fix that little economic problem; they just steal from the middle class (who doesn’t have any say in it, elections are a joke) to cover their asses and it’s “business-as-usual”. Now when the wealthy fuck up, the poor get to die for the mistakes… isn’t that a clever, tidy solution.

As government agencies go, the FAA is often justifiably referred to as a tombstone agency, though they are hardly alone. The recent presidential puppet GW Bush and his cronies in their eight years certainly reinforced for all of us that this criticism rings equally true for all of the government. Nothing changes unless there is a body count (unless it is in the interest of the wealthy sows at the government trough). In a government full of hypocrites from top to bottom, life is as cheap as their lies and their self-serving laws.
I know I’m hardly the first one to decide I have had all I can stand. It has always been a myth that people have stopped dying for their freedom in this country, and it isn’t limited to the blacks, and poor immigrants. I know there have been countless before me and there are sure to be as many after. But I also know that by not adding my body to the count, I insure nothing will change. I choose to not keep looking over my shoulder at “big brother” while he strips my carcass, I choose not to ignore what is going on all around me, I choose not to pretend that business as usual won’t continue; I have just had enough.

I can only hope that the numbers quickly get too big to be white washed and ignored that the American zombies wake up and revolt; it will take nothing less. I would only hope that by striking a nerve that stimulates the inevitable double standard, knee-jerk government reaction that results in more stupid draconian restrictions people wake up and begin to see the pompous political thugs and their mindless minions for what they are. “The military has had about 20 years to work on weather warfare methods, which it euphemistically calls weather modification. For example, rainmaking technology was taken for a few test rides in Vietnam. Recently I wrote a piece detailing why Haiti is so poor, how the U.S. and its European allies have conspired since 1804 to choke and strangle the people and economy of this island inhabited by the descendants of Africans. Haiti is peopled by the sons and daughters of the Africans who soundly defeated France, Britain and Spain to gain their independence and freedom, to become a beacon of possibility for freedom-loving people in this hemisphere.

The whites have never forgiven those Africans or their heirs for debunking the feeble notions of white supremacy and superiority. The U.S. elites and New World Order devotees still hold a deep seated animus towards Haiti and the Haitian people to this day.

Immediately following the “earthquake” that hit Haiti on Jan. 12, 2010, I started seeing reports that the earthquake was not a random occurrence or happenstance. These were the same rumblings I heard following Hurricane Katrina.

After the devastation of Katrina I started seeing reports about HAARP, High Frequency Active Auroral Research. I did some research and discovered HAARP is an extremely high frequency radio transmitter military operation located in Alaska and Puerto Rico. HAARP is a military project both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force have signed on to for conducting experiments and tests using high frequency electromagnetic waves.

The U.S. military has been using HAARP to slice the earth’s ionosphere, stab into the oceans in search of submarines, penetrate deep into the earth’s core and impact all life on the planet. Some speculate the U.S. and Russia have engaged in stealth weather warfare for decades.

The U.S. government is tight lipped about HAARP and its clandestine uses. However if you do some cursory research, you will discover alarming but not surprising facts, that for me confirm what the Last Poets said is true, “The white man has a god complex.”

This is the HAARP Research Station in Gakona, Alaska. HAARP’s official website, www.haarp.alaska.edu, states its purpose: “HAARP is a scientific endeavor aimed at studying the properties and behavior of the ionosphere, with particular emphasis on being able to understand and use it to enhance communications and surveillance systems for both civilian and defense purposes.”

“HAARP is part of the weapons arsenal of the New World Order under the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). From military command points in the U.S., entire national economies could potentially be destabilized through climatic manipulations. More importantly, the latter can be implemented without the knowledge of the enemy, at minimal cost and without engaging military personnel and equipment as in a conventional war,” writes Michel Chossudovsky in “Washington’s New World Order Weapons Have the Ability to Trigger Climate Change.” Chossudovsky is professor of economics at the University of Ottawa and the author of “The Globalization of Poverty.”

He continues: “The use of HAARP – if it were to be applied – could have potentially devastating impacts on the world’s climate. Responding to U.S. economic and strategic interests, it could be used to selectively modify climate in different parts of the world resulting in the destabilization of agricultural and ecological systems.

“It is also worth noting that the U.S. Department of Defense has allocated substantial resources to the development of intelligence and monitoring systems on weather changes. NASA and the Department of Defense’s National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) are working on ‘imagery for studies of flooding, erosion, land-slide hazards, earthquakes, ecological zones, weather forecasts, and climate change’ with data relayed from satellites,” Chossudovsky writes.

The U.S. has three known HAARP transmitting stations (and the operative word here is “known”) – two in Alaska at Gakona and Fairbanks and one in Puerto Rico near the Arecibo Observatory. The U.S. actually admits HAARP has been used to probe the earth for natural gas and oil.

Keep this in mind: Haiti has oil. In fact the Atlantic Richfield Co. is a major developer of patented HAARP technology as are E-Systems and Raytheon, two major defense contractors (a euphemism for the warmongering military industrial complex).

What if the HAARP transmitting station in Puerto Rico was probing for oil in the Caribbean near Cuba or Haiti and set the signal frequencies too high? What if this aggravated a pre-existing fault line on the island shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic and resulted in the earthquake?

Or what if they already knew Haiti had oil off its coasts and near the mountains and deliberately ignited a HAARP beam in order to generate enough instability to create an earthquake in order to ethnically cleanse and depopulate the region?

Now before you call me crazy or say I’m a “conspiracy kook,” remember this is the same U.S. military that dropped two atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, two non-military targets, when they had no idea how much damage they would cause! This is the same military that dropped tons of lethal chemicals, defoliants and herbicides in Vietnam – sometimes on U.S. forces (friendly fire?).

This is the same military that uses depleted uranium in Iraq and unmanned drones to kill innocent civilians in Afghanistan and Pakistan today. The U.S. is waging proxy and low grade resource wars all around the planet. You get my drift? The U.S. military is capable of unspeakable atrocities.

Let’s not forget the U.S. government’s genocidal policies: giving smallpox laced blankets to the Native Americans, the infamous Tusgekee syphilis experiment. Don’t forget about slavery and the U.S. government standing idly by as thousands of Blacks were lynched and terrorized during the 19th and 20th centuries.

So if you are a student of history or you are half way sane, my HAARP scenario is not far fetched at all. Why has Obama reacted to Haiti just like Bush reacted to Katrina? Why the delay in mobilizing aid?

Why a military response as opposed to a humanitarian one? Why so many obstacles placed in the way of supplies and humanitarian aid given by other countries, just like FEMA erected obstacles to aid from neighboring communities and states and volunteer first responders in New Orleans? Why is the corporate media focusing on the alleged looting and the need for police and security rather than the way native Haitians have pooled together to help one another?

This is a redo of Katrina. Actually, when you consider the U.S. government’s abysmal response to Hurricane Katrina and the recent Haitian crisis, you have to conclude they are: 1) callous and heartless, 2) totally inept or 3) deliberately engaged in ethnic cleansing and genocide.

I suspect the latter, and one of the reasons is oil. Let us not forget: Haiti has oil! Oil is one of the main components of the American g.o.d.: gold, oil and drugs. They will do anything for their god. The media is now playing up the scramble to help Haiti by Americans as a cover for what really went down and to keep people thinking the earthquake was a “natural disaster” when in fact HAARP created it either deliberately or unintentionally. This is my theory. Like the title of Charles Barkley’s book, “I may be wrong, but I doubt it.”

Military, scientific and legal experts worldwide question whether 200,000 Haitians were sacrificed for gold and oil

Junious Ricardo Stanton is not alone in questioning the cause of the Jan. 12 earthquake in Haiti. Significant voices around the world are joining the speculation.

“The Russian Navy reports that the U.S. created the earthquake in Haiti,” reports Pravda on Jan. 21, “through one of its earthquake weapons.”

Pravda suggests that the earthquake in Eureka, Calif., on Jan. 9 was caused by a U.S. Navy test in the Pacific. And it reports that the Russian Navy has diagramed a series of quakes “identical in depth and linearly on the same fault” in Venezuela on Jan. 8, Honduras on Jan. 11 and Haiti on Jan. 12 – all at the same 10 km depth.

A Russian Navy report, according to Pravda, notes that “it is ‘more than likely’ that the U.S. Navy had ‘full knowledge’ of the catastrophic damage that this test earthquake could potentially have on Haiti and had pre-positioned its deputy commander of the Southern Command, Gen. P.K. Keen, on the island to oversee aid work if needed.”

“Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez Wednesday accused the United States of causing the destruction in Haiti by testing a ‘tectonic weapon’ to induce the catastrophic earthquake that hit the country last week,” reports Press TV Jan. 21, adding, “President Chavez said the U.S. was ‘playing God’ by testing devices capable of creating eco-type catastrophes.”

“Venezuelan media have reported that the earthquake ‘may be associated with the project called HAARP, a system that can generate violent and unexpected changes in climate,’” according to the Press TV story, which concludes, “Former U.S. Secretary of Defense William Cohen in 1997 expressed concerns over countries engaging ‘in eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.’”

In a Jan. 28 email to the Bay View, geoscientist Leuren Moret writes: “The Soviet Union and the U.S. co-developed HAARP during the Cold War,” supposedly “to prevent development of weapons to use against the environment or to use the environment as a weapon.”

“On Jan. 12 Haiti was hit with tectonic warfare by the U.S. from our HAARP facility at Arecibo, Puerto Rico,” Moret asserts.

Why? “Canadian mining companies (tied to City of London bankers) have been mining gold, silver, zinc and copper since 1975 in the Dominican Republic. Now that they have mined and know the estimated yields – $54 billion from just ONE old volcano – they are going for the blood of the Haitians who would not allow mining.

“Three years ago, Eurasian Minerals Inc. bought as much as 20-25 percent of the mining rights in Haiti,” which is shown on its home page as the location of one of its five largest projects. “All of the five projects are located near a HAARP facility. On Dec. 8, 2009, Eurasian Minerals applied to IFC (World Bank) for funding to mine Haiti in a formal proposal.”

Even without a trigger as esoteric as HAARP, human-triggered quakes are well documented. The Wall Street Journal, in a June 25, 2009, story titled “At Fault: Does Drilling Cause Earthquakes?” reported: “The idea that human activity can cause seismic activity is widely accepted in the scientific community. A 2000 paper in the journal Oilfield Review – published by the oilfield services giant Schlumberger Ltd. – noted that the connection between oil production and earthquakes dates back to at least the 1920s, when geologists in South Texas noted faulting near the Goose Creek oil field.”

Both drilling for oil and gas and a technique that involves “injecting water into the ground to fracture rock formations far beneath the surface,” which is also used for accessing renewable geothermal energy, have been blamed, according to the Wall Street Journal. A geothermal project in Switzerland “was shut down in 2006 after [the water injection technique] was blamed for a magnitude 3.4 quake – enough to cause quite a stir in an area not accustomed to temblors.”

“The New York Times reported Wednesday [June 24, 2009] on concerns that a geothermal energy project about to begin near San Francisco could trigger quakes in the seismically active region,” reports Ben Casselman, writer of the Wall Street Journal story. The developer of the San Francisco project says “they’ve improved the method and won’t cause serious quakes. Residents aren’t so sure – one told the Times the project was ‘terrifying.’”

On Jan. 29, attorney Marguerite Laurent of the Haitian Lawyers Leadership Network posted a new story to her website that begins: “I wrote Part 1 of ‘Oil in Haiti as the economic reason for the US/UN occupation’ back in October 2009. After the earthquake I questioned whether oil drilling could have triggered the earthquake (‘Did mining and oil drilling trigger the Haiti earthquake?’).”

She quotes from a Jan. 26 Bloomberg BusinessWeek story: “Haiti Earthquake May Have Exposed Gas, Aiding Economy”: “The Jan. 12 earthquake was on a fault line that passes near potential gas reserves, said Stephen Pierce, a geologist who worked in the region for 30 years for companies including the former Mobil Corp. The quake may have cracked rock formations along the fault, allowing gas or oil to temporarily seep toward the surface.”

The Bloomberg story cites a 2000 report by the U.S. Geological Survey that estimates “at least 142 million barrels of oil and 159 billion cubic feet of gas” in the Greater Antilles, which include Cuba, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and their offshore waters.

Laurent writes, “According to Haitian scholar Dr. Georges Michel (in ‘Oil in Haiti‘), the U.S. has known there’s oil and natural gas reserves in Haiti since 1908 and did their explorations in the 1950s and locked up what they found as ‘strategic reserves for the U.S.’ to be tapped when Middle Eastern oil became less available.

“I’ve been writing for years now that the U.S. has been trying to get rid of Haiti’s democratically elected government since 1991 so they could get to ‘their’ strategic reserves without any fear of a populist president nationalizing the oil and gas reserves to benefit the miserably poor majority in Haiti as has been done in Venezuela or elsewhere in Latin America. (See, ‘Haiti is full of oil, say Ginette and Daniel Mathurin,’ where these scientists say there’s more oil in Haiti than in Venezuela.) …

“Don’t fall for this hoax. The powers that be are already drilling and, for years, HLLN has been pointing to the Lavalas white book detailing Haiti’s resources as part of the reason for ousting President Aristide and putting in Haitian puppets to empire. …

“Just yesterday I was called CRAZY for saying Haiti had oil and substantial mineral resources. But today, today, if the white man says it, it must be true! [She’s referring to geologist Stephen Pierce in the Bloomberg story.] Don’t fall for the empire’s latest spin and cleanup job. Two many defenseless people are still dying behind this earthquake and classquake. Too many long-suffering flesh and blood who won’t get rescue, recovery, relief and rebuilding, but the cold steel of military occupation.”

VoltaireNet, the non-aligned press network, reports that the swiftness of the U.S. troop deployment to Haiti “can be easily explained since these troops were already pre-positioned in the context of a military exercise. Under the orders of Gen. P.K. Keen, military deputy commander of U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), they took part in an exercise simulating a humanitarian operation in Haiti after a hurricane. Keen and his staff had arrived a few days earlier. At the precise moment that the earth shook, they were already sheltered in the U.S. Embassy, built in compliance with anti-earthquake norms.”

'Misleading' science career report criticised

A report commissioned by the Government as part of a campaign to promote science has been criticised for its "cut-and-paste" text and use of Wikipedia as a reference source.

The Shape of Jobs to Come was commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills as part of its "Science: So what? So everything" campaign.

It looks at careers that could emerge from advances in science and technology over the next 20 years, from "body-part maker" to "weather modification police".

The report, published last month, was promoted by many including Lord Drayson, the Science Minister, and Gordon Brown.

But an academic is taking to task both BIS and the consultancy that produced the study, Fast Future, claiming that the report is substandard and could mislead people.

Jonathan Mendel, a lecturer in human geography at the University of Dundee, said the report used "unjustified methodologies" to reach its conclusions and was "overly reliant" on weak online sources and media reports, with some sections referencing only Wikipedia.

Although sources are referenced, he said the report lifted "significant passages of text" word for word.
Dr Mendel also questioned the Government's use of "weak research" to promote a rosy view of future jobs in science when funding was being cut. He said he had challenged BIS officials about the report but they had insisted it was "rigorous and credible for their purposes".

"Given BIS' role in universities and research, this raises worrying questions about some of the ways in which BIS understands, communicates and uses research," he said.

A BIS spokeswoman said the report was a "speculative look" into the future intended to spark public interest in science and did not inform policy or affect funding decisions.

Rohit Talwar, founder of Fast Future and co-author of the report, said a wide variety of people had been asked about possible future jobs, and maintained that citing websites, news reports and blogs was "accepted best practice in horizon scanning".

If a deadly virus starts spreading rapidly, few countries, and few people, will be prepared. Nurses will be in short supply. And as death rates rise, and neighborhoods are shut down, someone will have to guard the gates.

The act of stealing clouds to create rain is already happening in some parts of the world and is altering weather patterns thousands of miles away. Weather modification police would need to control and monitor who is allowed to shoot rockets containing silver iodine into the air - a way to provoke rainfall from passing clouds.

As more and more of our daily life goes online, we will need specialist lawyers to resolve legal disputes which could involve people living in countries and regions with different laws.

13. Avatar manager/devotees/virtual teachers

This job would be an extension of the role played by celebrity stylists and publicists. More snow forecast for winter-weary states

WASHINGTON, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Large chunks of the United States were under weather alerts Monday with freezing rain, sleet and snow battering weather-weary states.

The National Weather Service issued storm warnings and weather advisories for Tuesday in sections of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia, especially mountainous regions, CNN reported.

Other warnings and watches were posted in Tennessee, Kentucky, and parts of the Midwest and the Mid-Atlantic states, weather officials said. Up to 3 inches of snow was expected by Monday in those areas.
Hundreds of flights in and out of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta were canceled as the system moved in, CNN said.

A snow emergency was in effect in Washington, where Mayor Adrian Fenty said 4 more inches of snow could fall. The area had already received a season-record snowfall of 55.9 inches, preliminary NWS estimates indicate.

Officials in Kansas City reported more than 100 damaged vehicles littered highways around the city during a 2-hour period Sunday, the Kansas City Star reported. More than 50 injuries were reported, none of them critical.

CNN said one accident involved as many as 30 vehicles.

"You could be driving along and think everything is fine and then -- boom -- you hit a burst of snow," said meteorologist Pat Cooper of the NWS office in Pleasant Hill, Mo. "Visibility's almost zero, you brake, and then you get cars piling into each other."

Officials from Fairfax and Arlington counties in Virginia issued appeals to help clear sidewalks so children could return to school Tuesday after the Presidents Day holiday, The Washington Post reported.
Howard County, Va., school officials said facilities there would be closed Tuesday.

"Some streets are still covered with ice, and others are too narrow," schools Superintendent Sydney Cousin said. "The high piles of snow create real visibility issues."

The real meaning of the 'militarization' of scientific advances is often missed even by those who have some idea of unfolding technologies like robotics, neural networks, nanotechnology, biotechnology and other developments with awesome potential ---- thanks to the 'US military deliberately misleading the public through sophisticated word games, deceit and outright dis-information', according to informed activists. They believe, this is why, all available information regarding mal-development of good science, should be disseminated 'for public scrutiny and informed debate,' something that The Dag Hammarksjold Foundation has been doing over the past decades through seminars, symposia and in-depth publications.

With the advent of gene-splicing technology, concerns about ever more sophisticated biological warfare have been raised as early as the 1980's.Given the esoteric nature of such science, existing conventions prohibiting biological and chemical weapons for warfare, become totally toothless. Civil society organizations and governments therefore have been repeatedly urged to beware of mysterious new viruses or bacteria or old diseases re-emerging.

The 'plus' points of germ warfare are that no one will know who did it, as the source of the 'attack' would be impossible to trace and no one will know it was done. 'If the weapon of choice is the mutant strain of a known disease, it may be impossible to prove the 'attack' was intended. Even the victims would be convinced it was 'an act of God,'says Pat Mooney. Bio-weapons can be used not only to kill unwanted people ( or introduce diseases against which new drugs can be designed for profit ) but to wage economic warfare, targeting livestock or crop and destroying the economy or the food supply of the enemy without anyone suspecting foul play.(and GUESS who the enemy is...)

By 1993 there was another serious concern, 'the global collection of human genetic material (usually cell lines) by medical researchers,' including the Human Genome Diversity Project,which could make it 'feasable to develop ethnically targeted viruses.' By 1998, this worrying possibility was recognized by the British Medical Association, and it could convince the World Medical Association to adopt a resolution that 'ethno-bombs' are indeed a real threat to human well-being. Both the UK and US governments have reportedly acknowledged that about a dozen countries were researching the use of ethno-bombs, as of late 20th century. Do we know how many are involved today ? In 1999 WMA seemed to imply that these weapons may have been used against the Tutsis in Rwanda, the Kurds in Iraq and the East Timoreans too. During the massacres in Bosnia-Herzegovina this scribe was struck by a very brief news flash over BBC radio which said a certain kind of bomb was exploded over Srebrenica to release something that could turn even docile people into murderous aggressors ! Do ethno-bombs work in the same way?

Zbigniew Brzezinski, National Security Adviser under US President Carter, wrote about three decades ago, during his stint as professor at Columbia University, that 'political strategists were tempted to exploit research on the brain and human behaviour', and cited geophysicist Gordon J F MacDonald as saying that 'accurately-timed, artificially excited electronic strokes could lead to a pattern of oscillations that produce relatively high power levels over certain regions of the earth …….. in this way one could develop a system that would seriously impair the brain performance of very large populations in selected regions over an extended period.' As early as 1970 Brzezinski predicted that an elite group with superior scientific know-how would gradually 'control' and 'direct' society. Global communications technology, with its ever more powerful sensors and satellites, have gone far, far ahead since that prediction.

Dr Nick Begich and Jeane Manning, in the course of their research for the book, 'Angels don't play this HAARP' (on the highly controversial High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program in Alaska), claims to have uncovered bizarre schemes, in US Air Force documents, for manipulating and disturbing mental processes through pulsed radio frequency radiation over large geographical areas ! And what is HAARP ? It is actually a prototype for a ground-based 'Star Wars' weapon system, say the authors.

Begich and Manning say that contrary to government claims that it is just an academic project trying to use the ionosphere ( the electrically charged sheild surrounding Earth's upper atmosphere, 40 to 60 miles above the surface of the earth) for the good of mankind, military documents and federal agency records point to environmental engineering that bodes no good. The military appears to be more forthright, stating that it means to exploit the ionosphere for defence purposes. But the military's reckless use of the radio frequencies in this natural shield could trigger cataclysmic consequences on earth, according to informed scientists. HAARP's superpowerful radiowave-beaming technology lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. It can indeed boil the upper atmosphere and zap with a focused and steerable electromagnetic beam. 'Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto the earth and penetrate everything ---- living and dead…….' claim Begich and Manning.

Weather control has been a major military interest since the 1950's. White House Advisor on weather modification, Captain Howard T Orville said in 1958 that the DoD was studying 'ways to manipulate the charges of the earth and sky and so affect the weather' by using an electronic beam to ionize or de-ionize the atmosphere over a given area.' Project Skyfire, Project Stormfury, Project Prime Argus are some of the names given to initial tests in weather manipulation ---rainmaking and snowfall, hurricane and lightening, drought and floods and even ways to cause and detect earthquakes have all been played with ! And tsunamis and cyclones ? In 1966 Dr MacDonald commented, 'The key to geophysical warfare is the identification of environmental instabilities to which the addition of a small amount of energy would release vastly greater amounts of energy.'

Is there any doubt, given the records, that environmental tampering ---- using the earth's energy fields ---- are used to manipulate the weather, modify the climate, melt polar ice caps, deplete the ozone layer, engineer earthquakes, control and manipulate both ocean and brain waves? All this tinkering, scientists say, would be virtually undetectable by the victims when used. Blame it all on Global Warming and Climate Change ---- and with blinkers that absolve the corporate civil-military industrial experimenters of guilt ! Brzezinski predicted decades ago '…… no matter how disturbing the thought of using the environment to manipulate behaviour for national advantages, to some, the technology permitting such use will very probably develop within the next few decades.' Science fiction has today become dreadful reality, no doubt about that !

Venezuela tries to make it rain

Flying high over Venezuela’s southeastern territories, a plane banks and fires into a mass of clouds.
Venezuela is not at war with the skies but with a severe drought that has caused an electricity crisis and forced the government to resort to unconventional methods to make it rain.

The government began “bombing clouds,” or cloud seeding, late last year after it emerged that the country was facing a dire water shortage.

Using technology borrowed from Cuba and Chile, the idea is to fire a mixture of silver iodide, dry ice and salt into vertically growing cumulonimbus clouds to encourage raindrops to join together.

“Where we have sewn it has rained,” said Jose Gregorio Sottolano, president of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. “What I can’t tell you, and it would be a lie, is how much water has fallen and if it has increased.”

Other countries have been using the technique for decades. China is reported to have fired rockets into the clouds above Beijing before the 2008 Olympic Games to reduce pollution. The U.S. has been cloud seeding since 1946 to make it rain in areas suffering from drought, to reduce the size of hailstones in storms and fog around airports, and occasionally to make it snow at large ski resorts. Eleven western states have ongoing weather modification programs.

Sottolano said Venezuela is suffering from the effects of El Nino, a climatic phenomenon that can drastically reduce rainfall. The Orinoco, one of South America’s largest rivers, has seen its water levels reduced to record lows in recent months.

And that’s a problem for a country that developed a national grid based on generating power from dams. Built in the 1960s, the grid aimed to take advantage of the country’s abundance of rivers and the efficiency of hydro-electricity.

But the Venezuelan government is plagued by inefficiency and several of its thermoelectric plants — which heat water until it turns to steam, then use the steam to power a turbine — are only partly operating or still under construction. In mid-January, Planta Centro, the largest thermoelectric plant in the country, only had one of its five generators in operation.

Meanwhile, water levels in Venezuela’s reservoirs continue to fall. It is now the height of the dry season, when skies are typically cloudless.

That makes the technology hard to utilize. “The clouds need to be between four and seven kilometers high in order to be seeded,” said Sottolano.

Not to mention that some meteorologists doubt whether cloud seeding works at all. (Now you know this is bull, but then again who cares what meteorologists doubt, the government and the military know it works since they're the ones doing it. HAARP knows it works...nuff said.)

“The main problem is finding the right type of cloud at the right temperature — naturally, with the technique being very expensive, one needs to have an expert team with good cloud physics measurement equipment on board the aircraft, for any chance of a cost effective result being achieved,” said Roger Williams, former director of the Bermuda Weather Service.

“A seeding project in desert areas or during the ‘dry season’ is likely to be a waste of time and money,” he said.

And even if it works, it will have to rain a lot in the wet season if Venezuela is to overcome this crisis.
The hydroelectric dam at El Guri reservoir supplies 44 percent of national demand. But a report by Edelca, the state company that manages that reservoir, revealed dangerously low levels.

As of Feb. 1, the reservoir was at 258 meters, 14 meters below its ideal level: If it falls below 240 meters, its turbines will cease working altogether. The report concluded that if desperate measures are not taken, Venezuela could see its national grid collapse by June.

On Monday, Chavez declared an electrical emergency due to what he claimed was the worst drought in 100 years. “We have done various studies and we’re ready to declare an electricity emergency, seeing as El Guri is falling by 13 centimeters every day,” he said.

Aside from bombing clouds, the government has also imposed water and electricity rationing, unpopular measures in a year when it faces a stern test in upcoming National Assembly elections in September.
In Caracas, rationing was suspended last month after the first day produced chaotic scenes in which a lack of functioning traffic lights caused bottlenecks and schools were not able to operate. President Hugo Chavez sacked the minister he had placed in charge of the newly created Electricity Ministry and appointed his long-serving finance minister instead.

The electricity crisis has prompted a debate about its causes. The government line: Blame the weather.
“Has there been a delay in some projects? Yes, that’s true. Has there been inefficient management in some areas? That’s true. But the only cause of electricity rationing is the drought,” Chavez said recently.
His critics say underinvestment during an oil boom that saw consumption increase by 28 percent in seven years is the primary cause.

“Part of the problem is due to the drought — that’s undeniable,” said Daniel Varnagy, director of the Economic and Administrative Sciences department at Caracas’ Simon Bolivar University. “But the drought is affecting us because the recommendations for planning for growth in the electricity sector were not followed.”
For now, Chavez will rely on any solution he can find to fix what is a critical situation in an election year.

HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) is a little-known, yet critically important U.S. military defense program which has generated quite a bit of controversy over the years in certain circles. Though denied by HAARP officials, some respected researchers allege that secret electromagnetic warfare capabilities of HAARP are designed to forward the US military's stated goal of achieving full-spectrum dominance by the year 2020. Others go so far as to claim that HAARP can and has been used for weather modification, to cause earthquakes and tsunamis, to disrupt global communications systems, and more.

Major aspects of the program are kept secret for alleged reasons of "national security." Yet there is no doubt that HAARP and electromagnetic weapons capable of being used in warfare do exist. According to the official HAARP website, "HAARP is a scientific endeavor aimed at studying the properties and behavior of the ionosphere, with particular emphasis on being able to understand and use it to enhance communications and surveillance systems for both civilian and defense purposes." The ionosphere is the delicate upper layer of our atmosphere which ranges from about 30 miles (50 km) to 600 miles (1,000 km) above the surface of the Earth.

The HAARP website acknowledges that experiments are conducted which use electromagnetic frequencies to fire pulsed, directed energy beams in order to "temporarily excite a limited area of the ionosphere." Some scientists state that purposefully disturbing this sensitive layer could have major and even disastrous consequences. Concerned HAARP researchers like Dr. Michel Chossudovsky of the University of Ottawa and Alaska's Dr. Nick Begich (son of a US Congressman) present evidence suggesting that these disturbances can even cause tsunamis and earthquakes.

Two key major media documentaries, one by Canada's public broadcasting network CBC and the other by the History Channel, reveal the inner workings of HAARP in a most powerful way. The very well researched CBC documentary includes this key quote:

This reveling document further states that the EU regrets the repeated refusal of the U.S. government to send anyone to give evidence on HAARP.

If an electromagnetic pulse went off over a city, basically all the electronic things in your home would wink and go out, and they would be permanently destroyed."

For those who still doubt that such devastating secret weapons have been developed, here is an intriguing quote from an article in New Zealand's leading newspaper, the New Zealand Herald:

"Top-secret wartime experiments were conducted off the coast of Auckland to perfect a tidal wave bomb, declassified files reveal. United States defence chiefs said that if the project had been completed before the end of the war, it could have played a role as effective as that of the atom bomb. Details of the tsunami bomb, known as Project Seal, are contained in 53-year-old documents released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade."

If the military secretly developed a weapon which could cause a tsunami over half a century ago, what kind of advanced deadly weapons might be available now? Clearly the military has the capability to cause a tsunami and likely to cause earthquakes and hurricanes, as well. It's time for us to take action to spread the word on this vital topic.

Having interpreted to for top generals in my work as a language interpreter with the US Department of State, I learned that military planners are always interested in developing the most devastating weapons possible. Yet these weapons are kept secret as long as possible, allegedly for reasons of national security. The many layers of intense secrecy both in the military and government result in very few people being aware of the gruesome capabilities for death and destruction that have been developed over the years. There are many examples of major defense projects kept successfully out of the public's eyes for years and even decades.

The massive Manhattan Project (development of the first atomic bomb) is one such example. The building of an entire city to support the project in Oak Ridge, Tennessee was successfully kept secret even from the state's governor. The stealth bomber was kept top secret for many years, and the public still has no way of knowing it's full capabilities. It is through the use of the highly organized military and intelligence services that the power elite of our world, working in cooperation with key allies in government and corporate ownership of the media, are able to carry out major cover-ups and secret operations like those involved with HAARP.

Some researchers have raised questions about the possible involvement of HAARP in major disasters like the earthquake in Haiti, Indonesian tsunami, and hurricane Katrina. Could these have been HAARP experiments gone awry? Might they even have been caused by rogue elements which gained control of this devastating technology. Of course disasters like this happen regularly on a natural basis, yet if you begin to research, there is some high strangeness around some of these disasters. The evidence is inconclusive, yet with the known and unknown major destructive capabilities of this weapon, serious questions remain.

Might the PM have forgotten the trip? This reply is a lie. Blair attended the 1993 Bilderberg Conference. He even belatedly declared it in the register of members' interests. His presence was reported in, to take just one source, The London Times, 4th march 1996, page 16 in an article entitled Wall Street, treason and Pat Buchanan by William Rees-Mogg, who attended Bilderberg too.

Five proofs that Tony Blair was at the 1993 Conference in Athens...

..."Last time I went to a Bilderberg conference, it was held in Athens, about three years ago. The Queen of The Netherlands is as Euro-fanatic as Ted Heath, Tony Blair is a modest good European, I have been an anti-Maastricht campaigner and Mr Black is a Canadian neo-realist who owns 500 newspapers."

Secondly, confirmation from a Memorandum submitted by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards:

"Complaint against Mr Kenneth Clarke 1. Mrs Lynn Riley, of Chepstow, Monmouthshire, wrote on 28 February 1997 to a Member of the House, alleging that Mr Kenneth Clarke MP had failed to register `the free trip and accommodation he received from the Bilderberg Group ... unlike Tony Blair who attended the same meeting'. She enclosed a letter from Mr Clarke dated 6 September 1995 in which he states that `my recollection is that I paid for my flight but that I was accommodated while I was there'. The Member passed the correspondence on to me……………………….

5. Mr Clarke subsequently explained that he and Mr Blair considered that they were attending the conference as representatives of the Government and the Opposition respectively, and stated that `I was quite confident that I was at the time meeting the rules applying to Ministers, and it did not occur to me that the new rules concerning registration could apply to this visit'. Mr Clarke allegedly failed to register a free trip and accommodation at the Bilderberg Conference on European and world affairs in April 1993 when he was home secretary. Thank you for your letter of the 9th November 1998 expressing your concern about the Bilderberg Group.

I do not for one moment discount the possibility of there being some very powerful forces at work and that their intention is to undermine and destroy the nation state.

That being said I feel sure that you will agree that we have to be practical about these things and I am at a loss to know how we as individuals can counteract the activities of such bodies as the Bilderbergers. Given the reluctance of elected politicians to acknowledge the nature of the very real threat to our democracy it seems inconceivable that they will openly attack these groups and the thought that they might actually proscribe them is just too fanciful for words. Neither am I aware of any mechanism by which individuals can be prevented from holding private meetings if they so choose nor of compelling them to publish their agenda and resolutions. The fact that their intentions may be treasonable is hardly the point if national governments see nothing wrong in their activities.

It seems to me that the only sensible course of action as far as people like ourselves are concerned is to concentrate all our efforts on trying to convince one or other of the main political parties, firstly, to recognise the enormity of the threat to our democratic rights and secondly, to come out of their corner fighting to defend them. As a democrat I believe in using the system to achieve my political objectives. Where this belief falls down is when there is a conspiracy to deny choice and I don't mind saying that I dread the lang term consequences of continuing on down that particular road.

At the end of the day the people will win but how much more desirable it is that they should win by the ballot rather than by the bullet.

Please be assured that I am doing everything I know how, within foe Conservative Party, to bring about a fundamental realignment before it is altogether too late.

What are Bilderberg Conferences all about?

TG 08Feb00 - Good Question! - The Bilderberg Secretariat proclaims the conferences to be '...private in order to encourage frank and open discussion'. Frank and open discussion is a good thing in any forum but when those doing the discussing are some of the very most powerful financiers and media tycoons in the world it begs the question: If what they discuss is for the good of mankind why not publicize it! Isn't it a perverted use of the word 'open' when no-one can hear what they're saying?

Is Bilderberg a secret conspiracy?

When such rich and powerful people meet up in secret, with military intelligence managing their security, with hardly a whisper escaping of what goes on inside, people are right to be suspicious. But the true power of Bilderberg comes from the fact that participants are in a bubble, sealed off from reality and the devastating implications on the ground of the black-science economic solutions on the table. So is Bilderberg a conspiracy? No, it's an extremely influential lobbying group. That's not to say though that the organisers don't have a hidden agenda, they do, namely acumulation of wealth and power into their own hands whilst explaining to the participants that globalisation is for the good of all. It is also a very good forum for 'interviewing' potential future political figures such as Clinton and Blair (1993).

The ideology put forward at the Bilderberg conferences is that what's good for banking and big business is good for the people of the world. Silently banished are the critical voices, those that might point out that debt is spiralling out of control, that wealth is being sucked away from ordinary people and into the hands of the faceless corporate institutions, that millions are dying as a direct result of the Rockefeller/Rothschild economic strategies.

When looking at one of the partially reliable participant lists it should be remembered that quite a number of attendees are invited in an attempt to get them on-board the globalisation project. These are carefully selected people of influence, who have been openly critical of globalisation. Examples are Jonathan Porritt (Bilderberg 1999) and Will Hutton (Bilderberg 1997) but there are many others. Most of these kinds of participants are happy to speak about the conference afterwards, and may even be suprisingly critical.

The Bilderbergers are accepted by those 'in the know' as the prophets of Capitalism. Will Hutton, deputy Editor of The Observer newspaper in London and left-leaning Economist, described private clubs of the elite as masterminded by 'The High Priests of Globalisation'. The ecclesiastical allusion is not accidental. The Bilderberg high-priests are a force against good, out to wipe morality from the earth. For the organisers Bilderberg Conferences are an annual ideological assault by the world's most power-hungry people. Not content with owning unimaginable amounts of money and property they want to use that wealth to acquire even more power for themselves. Power is the most dangerous and addictive drugs known to man. The craving will only be satisfied when a handful of men own and control everything on earth.

And just like the Nazi party in the 1930's the global Capitalist Elite are rising in power by peaceful means. There are some very uncomfortanble connections between Bilderberg and the Nazis through the Conference's founder Prince Bernhard.

These crown princes of capital use violence at the sharp end - the destruction of dissent - the repossession of homes men and women have worked a lifetime for - needless deaths from starvation and geopolitical machinations - this violence is notable by its absence from the annual meetings.

One can't help but wonder, when the Bilderberg organisers, Rothschild, Rockefeller, Kissinger and the rest have completed their project of enclosing all global goods and services into their own hands, enclosing too the media to stop people freely discussing what they are up to. What then?? What happens when the men who would be gods turn out to be the global devils?

Who is behind Bilderberg?

Bilderberg is run by a Steering Group - if you're wondering who's responsible for so much of the capital-friendly and dissent-crushing law-making, poverty and general misery in the world this may be the place to look. Up-to-date lists are available from the Bilderberg Secretariat<. This is the closest approximation to a shadow world government. And this is another hidden agenda at Bilderberg.

There may be other groups pulling the strings behind even the Steering Group possibly even high degree occult groups such as The Masons or Illuminati! [eg.]

There must certainly be some sociopathic minds behind Bilderberg since they go to so much trouble to promote policies that lead to exploitation, inequality and despair. These individuals seem oddly switched off from the suffering they are causing. Surely only pernicious people would want to control the ideology of the world's mainstream press, and undermine natural political discourse. Public opinion and democratic institutions are a threat when you want to own the world.

The perverse objective of the Bilderberg Steering Group is to dress totalitarian corporate ideology up to appear rational and push it out for mass consumption without anyone knowing where these 'inevitable' ideas have come from. Meanwhile, outside the Bilder-bubble, globalisation is on the loose with free-reign to destroy our Earth and our spirit.

My article and links today are quite scary. If you are faint of heart and do not wish to know the true facts of the "global village" you live in today, read no further. This is a follow up piece to the article I wrote last summer titled "Gun Owners Checkmate" .

I am going to take you beyond Echelon and Carnivore. The Orwellian 1984 spook / spy programs of NSA and FBI respectively. For this is now 2001. Our village today is part of the real New World Order. Once known under names like united States of America, USA or US. Today our country could better be referred to as United Socialist States of AmeriKa or USSA inc. In this UN state (nation), if you wave Ol' Glory, are patriotic and God fearing, you could become a suspect. (unless it has gold fringe of course). You see, the USSA is steered by Corporations, NGO's, UN and traitorous bureaucrats with plenty of "Diversity" . If you are politically incorrect and lack diversity, you could be in big trouble !

For this article lets use YOU as an example. Let's profile YOU as one of those real life wacko's as follows:

1. Loves and serves God and Country.

2. Goes to church.

3. Owns guns and thinks of it as a RIGHT instead of a privilege.

4. Loves his or her spouse and refuses to take on a fling with a same sex partner.( Like popularized on TV/movies,mags.,schools etc..)

Now that you are profiled. It is easy to see you are politically incorrect and lack that required diversity, needed to function in today's Utopia. The UN's big brother program decides you have need for watching. You could well become a link in a terrorist organization.

Now since it was YOU we have profiled. Let's say you wrote this very article, as well as others in the past that were critical of the government.( USSA or UN ). That means that the plane in link # 26 below is flying over your house instead of mine. (Say I like the way this article is going for a change;-)) You quickly research and find out the plane is a high tech surveillance craft known as a RC-135 Rivet Joint. You take the many overflights as a compliment your article research is paying off..

Unknown to you the government has put into your "file" that you are a member of the radical Freeman Society. No such group exists, but the lackey's in the global village international police organizations( i.e..your local Sheriff / PD) don't know that. Therefor you deserve extra scrutiny. You must be the enemy.

In the "old days" they might tail you. In today's hi-tech world, that's not necessary. You and the family decide on a day out. You stop by the burger joint for a quick bite (on camera). You go to Wal-Mart to shop (on camera ). You are watched closely as you examine the goods to make sure you don't get stuck with Chinese or Mexican junk. You swell with pride having finally found an item or two labeled, made in the USA. You are happy mostly because, you are oblivious to the fact those items were made in local prisons by people just like you. On the way home (in your smart car) down route 11 on camera ) onto ITS interstate 75 ( on camera ) you decide to go see Aunt Lu Lu at the hospital (on camera ).(see links 4-10 below).

While driving home down ITS interstate 75 (on camera yet again) you hear a special news bulletin on the radio ( controlled media channel ). Traffic has come to a screeching halt in a massive jam up. "Authorities"

International Monetary Fund authorized FEMA, FBI, ATF, IRS, Secret Service, US Police & Marshals and UN Military AGENTS) have declared a state of martial law. All publicly owned weapons are to be turned in to the "authorities" immediately. Additionally all members of the subversive Freeman Society, Patriots League, Gun Bearers Assoc., America Militia Corps etc. are to surrender immediately. Your family looks at each other in stark horror. You look for a way out of the traffic. Darn it, why did they put those concrete dividers in the highway? You decide to ease onto and ride the shoulder. Up ahead before the next exit, you see military check/chokepoints. You decide to chance it, you gun your engine and go around on the grass. Suddenly your vehicle shakes and looses power. (see ray gun patent at bottom of links). An ordinance rocks the vehicle. You and family quickly exit but are hit with a sticky goo substance. Somehow you manage to escape on foot across the hill overlooking the ITS interstate. You look back to see other vehicles trapped by the Vehicle Arrester ( see link # 28 ). You hide in the Crape Myrtle's, knowing that will help shield you from the heat sensing helicopters. You look in disbelief as un-manned military vehicles patrol the roadways.( see link #'s1-5 ). Soon a voice screams orders to surrender. You look around, hopelessly surrounded. You are quickly thrown down, boot stomped and searched, before being yanked to your feet. A blue helmeted Sergeant laughs and asked; you didn't think you could escape now did you? But how did you find me; you ask?

Since you are writing this, I will give you some options on ending it. Did they find you by:

1. Satellites that can tell if that quarter in your hand is heads or tails.( see link # 24 )

2. US Patent # 6,100,806 ( see bottom of links ) ( use US pat office search for more detail ).

3. That biochip they gave with your flu vaccine was read by electronics included with the on side road cams. All is connected with GPS. ( see link #'s 20 to 23 )

4. Frequencies in your head. ( see link #'s 17-18 )

Now some might be thinking this is a work of fiction since YOU and I wrote it. I assure everyone this is all too real. Yes I could have written many different scenarios and added hundreds more links. But this is tough enough to handle for now. I advise YOU to check out completely these links, including the ones I didn't use in the article itself (below). Sadly you will find our country in worse shape than you ever imagined.
